Surah Maidah Ayat 68 in Urdu - سورہ المائدہ کی آیت نمبر 68
﴿قُلْ يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ لَسْتُمْ عَلَىٰ شَيْءٍ حَتَّىٰ تُقِيمُوا التَّوْرَاةَ وَالْإِنجِيلَ وَمَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكُم مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ ۗ وَلَيَزِيدَنَّ كَثِيرًا مِّنْهُم مَّا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ طُغْيَانًا وَكُفْرًا ۖ فَلَا تَأْسَ عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ﴾

کہو کہ اے اہل کتاب! جب تک تم تورات اور انجیل کو اور جو (اور کتابیں) تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے تم لوگوں پر نازل ہوئیں ان کو قائم نہ رکھو گے کچھ بھی راہ پر نہیں ہو سکتے اور یہ (قرآن) جو تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے تم پر نازل ہوا ہے ان میں سے اکثر کی سرکشی اور کفر اور بڑھے گا تو تم قوم کفار پر افسوس نہ کرو
Surah Al-Maidah Full Urdu(1) یہ ہدایت اور گمراہی اس اصول کے مطابق ہے جو سنت اللہ رہی ہے۔ یعنی جس طرح بعض اعمال واشیا سے اہل ایمان کے ایمان وتصدیق، عمل صالح اور علم نافع میں اضافہ ہوتا ہے، اسی طرح معاصی اور تمرد سے کفر وطغیان میں زیادتی ہوتی ہے۔ اس مضمون کو اللہ تعالیٰ نے قرآن کریم میں متعدد جگہ بیان فرمایا ہے۔ مثلاً ”قُلْ هُوَ لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا هُدًى وَشِفَاءٌ وَالَّذِينَ لا يُؤْمِنُونَ فِي آذَانِهِمْ وَقْرٌ وَهُوَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَمًى أُولَئِكَ يُنَادَوْنَ مِنْ مَكَانٍ بَعِيدٍ“ (حم السجدة: 44) ”فرما دیجئے یہ قرآن ایمان والوں کے لئے ہدایت اور شفا ہے اور جو لوگ ایمان نہیں لاتے ان کے کانوﮞ میں گرانی (بہراپن) ہے اور یہ ان پر اندھاپن ہے۔ گرانی کے سبب ان کو (گویا) دور جگہ سے آواز دی جاتی ہے“۔ ”وَنُنَزِّلُ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ مَا هُوَ شِفَاءٌ وَرَحْمَةٌ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَلا يَزِيدُ الظَّالِمِينَ إِلا خَسَارًا“ (بني إسرائيل: 82) ”اور ہم قرآن کے ذریعے سے وہ چیز نازل کرتے ہیں جو مومنوں کے لئے شفا اور رحمت ہے اور ظالموں کے حق میں تو نقصان ہی کا بڑھانا ہے۔

صاف کہہ دو کہ "اے اہل کتاب! تم ہرگز کسی اصل پر نہیں ہو جب تک کہ توراۃ اور انجیل اور اُن دوسری کتابوں کو قائم نہ کرو جو تمہارے رب کی طرف سے نازل کی گئی ہیں" ضرور ہے کہ یہ فرمان جو تم پر نازل کیا گیا ہے ان میں سے اکثر کی سرکشی اور انکار کو اور زیادہ بڑھا دے گا مگر انکار کرنے والوں کے حال پر کچھ افسوس نہ کرو
Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran by Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi
(5:68) Say to them: 'People of the Book! You have no solid ground to stand on unless you establish the Torah and the Gospel and all that had been revealed to you from your Lord. *97 Indeed the message revealed to you from your Lord will aggravate insurgence and unbelief in many of them. *98 So do not grieve for those who disbelieve.

*97). By 'establishing the Torah and the Gospel' is meant observing them honestly and making them the law of life.
It should be noted here that the Scriptures which comprise the Bible consist of two kinds of writings. One was composed by the Jewish and Christian authors themselves. The second consists of those portions which have been recorded as either the injunctions of God or as the utterances of Moses, Jesus and other Prophets. Such portions are those in which it has been categorically stated that God said so and so, or that a particular Prophet said so and so. If we were to exclude the portions belonging to the first category and carefully study those belonging to the second we would notice that their teachings are not perceptibly different from those of the Qur'an. It is true that the second category has not altogether escaped the tamperings of translators, scribes and exegetes, and the errors of oral transmitters. Nevertheless, one cannot help feeling that the teachings embodied in the second category call man to the same pure monotheism as the Qur'an, that they propound those very beliefs propounded by the Qur'an and that they direct man to the same way of life as that to which the Qur'an seeks to direct him. Hence, had the Jews and the Christians adhered to the teaching attributed in their Scriptures to God and the Prophets they would certainly have become a truth-loving and truth-oriented group of people and would have been able to see in the Qur'an that very light which illuminates the earlier divine Scriptures. There would then have been no question of their abandoning their religion in order to follow the Prophet (peace be on him). To follow him would have caused neither break nor discontinuity; they would simply have gone one stage further along the same road.

English - Sahih International
Say, "O People of the Scripture, you are [standing] on nothing until you uphold [the law of] the Torah, the Gospel, and what has been revealed to you from your Lord." And that which has been revealed to you from your Lord will surely increase many of them in transgression and disbelief. So do not grieve over the disbelieving people.

(ऐ रसूल) तुम कह दो कि ऐ अहले किताब जब तक तुम तौरेत और इन्जील और जो (सहीफ़े) तुम्हारे परवरदिगार की तरफ़ से तुम पर नाज़िल हुए हैं उनके (एहकाम) को क़ायम न रखोगे उस वक्त तक तुम्हारा मज़बह कुछ भी नहीं और (ऐ रसूल) जो (किताब) तुम्हारे पास तुम्हारे परवरदिगार की तरफ़ से भेजी गयी है (उसका) रश्क (हसद) उनमें से बहुतेरों की सरकशी व कुफ़्र को और बढ़ा देगा तुम काफ़िरों के गिरोह पर अफ़सोस न करना

বলে দিনঃ হে আহলে কিতাবগণ, তোমরা কোন পথেই নও, যে পর্যন্ত না তোমরা তওরাত, ইঞ্জিল এবং যে গ্রন্থ তোমাদের পালনকর্তার পক্ষ থেকে তোমাদের প্রতি অবতীর্ণ হয়েছে তাও পুরোপুরি পালন না কর। আপনার পালনকর্তার কাছ থেকে আপনার প্রতি যা অবর্তীণ হয়েছে, তার কারণে তাদের অনেকের অবাধ্যতা ও কুফর বৃদ্ধি পাবে। অতএব, এ কাফের সম্প্রদায়ের জন্যে দুঃখ করবেন না।
