﴿إِنَّمَا أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَعْبُدَ رَبَّ هَٰذِهِ الْبَلْدَةِ الَّذِي حَرَّمَهَا وَلَهُ كُلُّ شَيْءٍ ۖ وَأُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ﴾
[ النمل: 91]

(کہہ دو) کہ مجھ کو یہی ارشاد ہوا ہے کہ اس شہر (مکہ) کے مالک کی عبادت کروں جس نے اس کو محترم (اور مقام ادب) بنایا ہے اور سب چیز اُسی کی ہے اور یہ بھی حکم ہوا ہے کہ اس کا حکم بردار رہوں

Surah An-Naml Full Urdu

(1) اس سےمراد مکہ شہر ہے اس کا بطور خاص اس لیے ذکر کیا ہے کہ اسی میں خانہ کعبہ ہے اور یہی رسول اللہ (صلى الله عليه وسلم) کو بھی سب سے زیادہ محبوب تھا۔ حرمت والا کا مطلب ہے اس میں خون ریزی کرنا، ظلم کرنا، شکار کرنا، درخت کاٹنا حتیٰ کہ کانﭩا توڑنا بھی منع ہے۔ (بخاري كتاب الجنائز، مسلم كتاب الحج باب تحريم مكة وصيدها، والسنن)

Surah Naml Ayat 91 meaning in urdu

(اے محمدؐ، اِن سے کہو) "مجھے تو یہی حکم دیا گیا ہے کہ اِس شہر کے رب کی بندگی کروں جس نے اِسے حرم بنایا ہے اور جو ہر چیز کا مالک ہے مجھے حکم دیا گیا ہے کہ میں مسلم بن کر رہوں

Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran by Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi

(27:91) (O Muhammad, say to them:) "What 1 have been commanded is that I should worship the Lord of this City, Who has made it sacred, and Who is the Owner of every thing. *110 I have been commanded to live as a Muslim

[Say, O Muhammad], "I have only been commanded to worship the Lord meaning

*110) As this Surah was sent down at a stage when the message of Islam was confined to Makkah and its addressees were the people of that City only, it was said, "I have been commanded that I should worship the Lord of this City." And the characteristic of the Lord was stated to be that He had made that City sacred. This was meant to warn the disbelievers of Makkah, as if to say, " You may if you so like prove thankless to that God Who has done you the great favour of making this City of yours a haven of peace in the strife-ridden land of Arabia, and Who by His grace has made it the centre of spiritual affiliation for the whole of Arabia, but I have been commanded to be grateful to him and bow down before Him. None of your deities had the power to make this City a sanctuary and make the quarrelsome and plundering tribes of Arabia have respect for it. I cannot abandon my real Benefactor and bow down before those who have done me no favour at all."

Innama omirtu an aAAbuda rabba hathihi albaldati allathee harramaha walahu kullu shayin waomirtu an akoona mina almuslimeena

English - Sahih International

[Say, O Muhammad], "I have only been commanded to worship the Lord of this city, who made it sacred and to whom [belongs] all things. And I am commanded to be of the Muslims [those who submit to Allah]

Quran Hindi translation

(ऐ रसूल उनसे कह दो कि) मुझे तो बस यही हुक्म दिया गया है कि मै इस शहर (मक्का) के मालिक की इबादत करुँ जिसने उसे इज्ज़त व हुरमत दी है और हर चीज़ उसकी है और मुझे ये हुक्म दिया गया कि मै (उसके) फरमाबरदार बन्दों में से हूँ

আমি তো কেবল এই নগরীর প্রভুর এবাদত করতে আদিষ্ট হয়েছি, যিনি একে সম্মানিত করেছেন। এবং সব কিছু তাঁরই। আমি আরও আদিষ্ট হয়েছি যেন আমি আজ্ঞাবহদের একজন হই।
