﴿وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ اتَّبِعُوا مَا أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ قَالُوا بَلْ نَتَّبِعُ مَا وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهِ آبَاءَنَا ۚ أَوَلَوْ كَانَ الشَّيْطَانُ يَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ عَذَابِ السَّعِيرِ﴾
[ لقمان: 21]

Ayat With Urdu Translation

اور جب اُن سے کہا جاتا ہے کہ جو (کتاب) خدا نے نازل فرمائی ہے اُس کی پیروی کرو۔ تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم تو اسی کی پیروی کریں گے جس پر اپنے باپ دادا کو پایا۔ بھلا اگرچہ شیطان ان کو دوزخ کے عذاب کی طرف بلاتا ہو (تب بھی؟)

Surah Luqman Full Urdu

(1) یعنی طرفگی یہ ہے کہ ان کےپاس کوئی عقلی دلیل ہے، نہ کسی ہادی کی ہدایت اور نہ کسی صحیفہ آسمانی سے کوئی ثبوت، گویا لڑتے ہیں اور ہاتھ میں تلوار بھی نہیں۔

Surah Luqman Ayat 21 meaning in urdu

اور جب ان سے کہا جاتا ہے کہ پیروی کرو اُس چیز کی جو اللہ نے نازل کی ہے تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم تو اُس چیز کی پیروی کریں گے جس پر ہم نے اپنے باپ دادا کو پایا ہے کیا یہ انہی کی پیروی کریں گے خواہ شیطان اُن کو بھڑکتی ہوئی آگ ہی کی طرف کیوں نہ بلاتا رہا ہو؟

Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran by Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi

(31:21) When they are told: 'Follow what Allah has revealed,' they say: 'We will rather follow that which we have found our forefathers following.' (Will they follow that) even though Satan might invite them to the chastisement of the Blazing Fire? *39

And when it is said to them, "Follow what Allah has revealed," meaning

*39) That is, It is not at aII necessary that the forefathers of every person and every family and nation should have been on the right path. The mere argument that a particular way of life had been bequeathed by the elders cannot be a proof of its being right also. No sane person can commit the folly that he should blindly go on following the way of his forefathers even if they were not rightly guided, and should never bother to find out where the way is leading him."

Waitha qeela lahumu ittabiAAoo ma anzala Allahu qaloo bal nattabiAAu ma wajadna AAalayhi abaana awalaw kana alshshaytanu yadAAoohum ila AAathabi alssaAAeeri

English - Sahih International

And when it is said to them, "Follow what Allah has revealed," they say, "Rather, we will follow that upon which we found our fathers." Even if Satan was inviting them to the punishment of the Blaze?

Quran Hindi translation

और जब उनसे कहा जाता है कि जो (किताब) ख़ुदा ने नाज़िल की है उसकी पैरवी करो तो (छूटते ही) कहते हैं कि नहीं हम तो उसी (तरीक़े से चलेंगे) जिस पर हमने अपने बाप दादाओं को पाया भला अगरचे शैतान उनके बाप दादाओं को जहन्नुम के अज़ाब की तरफ बुलाता रहा हो (तो भी उन्ही की पैरवी करेंगे)

তাদেরকে যখন বলা হয়, আল্লাহ যা নাযিল করেছেন, তোমরা তার অনুসরণ কর, তখন তারা বলে, বরং আমরা আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদেরকে যে বিষয়ের উপর পেয়েছি, তারই অনুসরণ করব। শয়তান যদি তাদেরকে জাহান্নামের শাস্তির দিকে দাওয়াত দেয়, তবুও কি?
