Verse 24 from surah Al-Jaathiyah

﴿وَقَالُوا مَا هِيَ إِلَّا حَيَاتُنَا الدُّنْيَا نَمُوتُ وَنَحْيَا وَمَا يُهْلِكُنَا إِلَّا الدَّهْرُ ۚ وَمَا لَهُم بِذَٰلِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ ۖ إِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا يَظُنُّونَ﴾

Ayat With Urdu Translation

اور کہتے ہیں کہ ہماری زندگی تو صرف دنیا ہی کی ہے کہ (یہیں) مرتے اور جیتے ہیں اور ہمیں تو زمانہ مار دیتا ہے۔ اور ان کو اس کا کچھ علم نہیں۔ صرف ظن سے کام لیتے ہیں

Surah Al-Jaathiyah Full Urdu

(1) یعنی غور و فکر نہیں کرتے تاکہ حقیقت حال تم پر واضح اور آشکارا ہوجائے۔
(2) یہ دہریہ اور ان کے ہم نوا مشرکین مکہ کا قول ہے جو آخرت کے منکر تھے۔ وہ کہتے تھے کہ بس یہ دنیا کی رندگی ہی پہلی اور آخری زندگی ہے، اس کے بعد کوئی زندگی نہیں اور اس میں موت و حیات کا سلسلہ، محض زمانے کی گردش کا نتیجہ ہے۔ جیسے فلاسفہ کا ایک گروہ کہتا ہے کہ ہر چھتیس ہزار سال کے بعد ہر چیز دوبارہ اپنی حالت پر لوٹ آتی ہے۔ اور یہ سلسلہ، بغیر کسی صانع اور مدبر کے، از خود یوں ہی چل رہا ہے اور چلتا رہے گا، نہ اس کی کوئی ابتدا ہے نہ انتہا۔ یہ گروہ دوریہ کہلاتا ہے (ابن کثیر) ظاہر بات ہے، یہ نظریہ، اسے عقل بھی قبول نہیں کرتی اور نقل کے بھی خلاف ہے۔ حدیث قدسی ہے، اللہ تعالیٰ فرماتا ہے۔ ”ابن آدم مجھے ایذا پہنچاتا ہے۔ زمانے کو برا بھلا کہتا ہے (یعنی اس کی طرف افعال کی نسبت کرکے، اسے برا کہتا ہے) حالانکہ (زمانہ بجائے خود کوئی چیز نہیں) میں خود زمانہ ہوں، میرے ہی ہاتھ میں تمام اختیارات ہیں، رات دن بھی میں ہی پھیرتا ہوں“۔ (البخاري، تفسير سورة الجاثية، مسلم كتاب الألفاظ من الأدب، باب النهي عن سب الدهر)۔

Surah Jasiah Ayat 24 meaning in urdu

یہ لوگ کہتے ہیں کہ "زندگی بس یہی ہماری دنیا کی زندگی ہے، یہیں ہمارا مرنا اور جینا ہے اور گردش ایام کے سوا کوئی چیز نہیں جو ہمیں ہلاک کرتی ہو" در حقیقت اِس معاملہ میں اِن کے پاس کوئی علم نہیں ہے یہ محض گمان کی بنا پر یہ باتیں کرتے ہیں

Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran by Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi

(45:24) They say: 'There is no life other than our present worldly life: herein we live and we die, and it is only (the passage of) time that destroys us. Yet the fact is that they know nothing about this and are only conjecturing. *34

And they say, "There is not but our worldly life; we die meaning

*34) This is, "There is no means of knowledge by which they might have known with certainty that after this life there is no other life for Tnan, and that man's soul is not seized by the Command of God, but he dies and perishes merely in the course of time. The deniers of the Hereafter say these things not on the basis of any knowledge but on mere conjecture. The maximum that they could say scientifically is: "We do not know whether there is any life after death or not;" but they cannot say: "We know that there is no other life after this life." Likewise, they cannot make the claim of knowing scientifically that man's soul is not seized by God's Command but he perishes after death just like a watch which suddenly stops functioning. The most they can say is just this: "We do not know what exactly happens in either cast." Now the question is: When to the extent of the means of human knowledge there is an equal possibility of there being life after death or there being no life after death, and the soul's being seized by Allah's Command, or man's dying of himself in the course of time, what is the reason that these people abandon the probability of the possibility of the Hereafter and give their judgement in favour of its denial? Do they have any other reason than this that they, in fact, decide this question on the basis of their desire and not by any argument? As they do not like that there should be any life after death and death should mean total annihilation and not seizure of the soul by Allah's Command, they make their heart's desire their creed and deny the other probability."

phonetic Transliteration

Waqaloo ma hiya illa hayatuna alddunya namootu wanahya wama yuhlikuna illa alddahru wama lahum bithalika min AAilmin in hum illa yathunnoona

English - Sahih International

And they say, "There is not but our worldly life; we die and live, and nothing destroys us except time." And they have of that no knowledge; they are only assuming.

Quran Hindi translation

और वह लोग कहते हैं कि हमारी ज़िन्दगी तो बस दुनिया ही की है (यहीं) मरते हैं और (यहीं) जीते हैं और हमको बस ज़माना ही (जिलाता) मारता है और उनको इसकी कुछ ख़बर तो है नहीं ये लोग तो बस अटकल की बातें करते हैं

Quran Bangla tarjuma

তারা বলে, আমাদের পার্থিব জীবনই তো শেষ; আমরা মরি ও বাঁচি মহাকালই আমাদেরকে ধ্বংস করে। তাদের কাছে এ ব্যাপারে কোন জ্ঞান নেই। তারা কেবল অনুমান করে কথা বলে।
