Verse 26 from surah As-Sajdah

﴿أَوَلَمْ يَهْدِ لَهُمْ كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّنَ الْقُرُونِ يَمْشُونَ فِي مَسَاكِنِهِمْ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ ۖ أَفَلَا يَسْمَعُونَ﴾
[ السجدة: 26]

کیا اُن کو اس (امر) سے ہدایت نہ ہوئی کہ ہم نے اُن سے پہلے بہت سی اُمتوں کو جن کے مقامات سکونت میں یہ چلتے پھرتے ہیں ہلاک کر دیا۔ بیشک اس میں نشانیاں ہیں۔ تو یہ سنتے کیوں نہیں

Surah As-Sajdah Full Urdu

(1) یعنی پچھلی امتیں، جو تکذیب اور عدم ایمان کی وجہ سے ہلاک ہوئیں، کیا یہ نہیں دیکھتے کہ آج ان کا وجود دنیا میں نہیں ہے، البتہ ان کے مکانات ہیں جن کے یہ وارث بنے ہوئے ہیں، مطلب اس سے اہل مکہ کو تنبیہ ہے کہ تمہارا حشر بھی یہی ہو سکتا ہے، اگر ایمان نہ لائے۔

اور کیا اِن لوگوں کو (اِن تاریخی واقعات میں) کوئی ہدایت نہیں ملی کہ ان سے پہلے کتنی قوموں کو ہم ہلاک کر چکے ہیں جن کے رہنے کی جگہوں میں آج یہ چلتے پھرتے ہیں؟ اس میں بڑی نشانیاں ہیں، کیا یہ سنتے نہیں ہیں؟

Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran by Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi

(32:26) Did (these historical events) not make them realise that We destroyed many nations before them amidst whose dwellings they now move about? *39 Surely there are many Signs in this. Are they unable to hear?

Has it not become clear to them how many generations We destroyed meaning

*39) That is, "Have they not learnt any lesson froth this continuous experience of history that to whichever nation a Messenger came, the decision of its destiny became dependent upon the attitude it adopted with regard to him? If it rejected its Messenger, it could not escape its doom. The only people to escape were those who believed in the Messenger. Those who disbelieved became an object of warning for ever and ever."

Awalam yahdi lahum kam ahlakna min qablihim mina alqurooni yamshoona fee masakinihim inna fee thalika laayatin afala yasmaAAoona

Has it not become clear to them how many generations We destroyed before them, [as] they walk among their dwellings? Indeed in that are signs; then do they not hear?

Quran Hindi translation

क्या उन लोगों को ये मालूम नहीं कि हमने उनसे पहले कितनी उम्मतों को हलाक कर डाला जिन के घरों में ये लोग चल फिर रहें हैं बेशक उसमे (कुदरते ख़ुदा की) बहुत सी निशानियाँ हैं तो क्या ये लोग सुनते नहीं हैं

এতে কি তাদের চোখ খোলেনি যে, আমি তাদের পূর্বে অনেক সম্প্রদায়কে ধ্বংস করেছি, যাদের বাড়ী-ঘরে এরা বিচরণ করে। অবশ্যই এতে নিদর্শনাবলী রয়েছে। তারা কি শোনে না?
