﴿فَقَدْ كَذَّبُوا بِالْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَأْتِيهِمْ أَنبَاءُ مَا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ﴾
[ الأنعام: 5]

جب ان کے پاس حق آیا تو اس کو بھی جھٹلا دیا سو ان کو ان چیزوں کا جن سے یہ استہزا کرتے ہیں عنقریب انجام معلوم ہو جائے گا

(1) یعنی اس اعراض اور تکذیب کا وبال انہیں پہنچے گا اس وقت انہیں احساس ہوگا کہ کاش! ہم اس کتاب برحق کی تکذیب اور اس کا استہزانہ کرتے۔

چنانچہ اب جو حق ان کے پاس آیا تو اسے بھی انہوں نے جھٹلا دیا اچھا، جس چیز کا وہ اب تک مذاق اڑاتے رہے ہیں عنقریب اس کے متعلق کچھ خبریں انہیں پہنچیں گی

Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran by Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi

(6:5) and thus they gave the lie to the Truth that has now come to them. Soon they will come upon some news concerning what they had mocked at. *4

For they had denied the truth when it came to them, but meaning

*4). The allusion is to the Migration (Hijrah) and the numerous victories destined to follow it in quick succession. When this allusion was made, the unbelievers could not have guessed what kind of news they would receive, and even the Muslims could not have imagined those developments. Infact, the Prophet himself (peace be on him) was not fully aware of the posibilities which lay in store.

Faqad kaththaboo bialhaqqi lamma jaahum fasawfa yateehim anbao ma kanoo bihi yastahzioona

For they had denied the truth when it came to them, but there is going to reach them the news of what they used to ridicule.

चुनान्चे जब उनके पास (क़ुरान बरहक़) आया तो उसको भी झुठलाया तो ये लोग जिसके साथ मसख़रापन कर रहे है उनकी हक़ीक़त उन्हें अनक़रीब ही मालूम हो जाएगी

অতএব, অবশ্য তারা সত্যকে মিথ্যা বলেছে যখন তা তাদের কাছে এসেছে। বস্তুতঃ অচিরেই তাদের কাছে ঐ বিষয়ের সংবাদ আসবে, যার সাথে তারা উপহাস করত।
