Verse 55 from surah Az-Zumar

﴿وَاتَّبِعُوا أَحْسَنَ مَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكُم مِّن رَّبِّكُم مِّن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَكُمُ الْعَذَابُ بَغْتَةً وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَشْعُرُونَ﴾
[ الزمر: 55]

اور اس سے پہلے کہ تم پر ناگہاں عذاب آجائے اور تم کو خبر بھی نہ ہو اس نہایت اچھی (کتاب) کی جو تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے تم پر نازل ہوئی ہے پیروی کرو

Surah Az-Zumar Full Urdu

(1) یعنی عذاب آنے سے قبل توبہ اور عمل صالح کااﮨتمام کرلو، کیونکہ جب عذاب آئےگا تو اس کا تمہیں علم و شعور بھی نہیں ہوگا، اس سےمراد دنیوی عذاب ہے۔

اور پیروی اختیار کر لو اپنے رب کی بھیجی ہوئی کتاب کے بہترین پہلو کی، قبل اِس کے کہ تم پر اچانک عذاب آئے اور تم کو خبر بھی نہ ہو

Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran by Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi

(39:55) Follow the best *72 of what has been revealed to you from your Lord before the chastisement suddenly comes upon you without you even being aware of it.'

And follow the best of what was revealed to you from your meaning

*72) "To follow the best aspect of the Book of Allah" means that one should carry out the Commands Allah has given and refrain from what He has forbidden, and learn lessons from what He has brought out in the parables and narratives. As against this, the one who turns away from Allah's Commands, indulges in the forbidden things, and dces not heed His admonitions, follows the worst aspect of the Book of AIlah, i.e. that aspect which the Divine Book has declared as the most evil.

WaittabiAAoo ahsana ma onzila ilaykum min rabbikum min qabli an yatiyakumu alAAathabu baghtatan waantum la tashAAuroona

And follow the best of what was revealed to you from your Lord before the punishment comes upon you suddenly while you do not perceive,

और जो जो अच्छी बातें तुम्हारे परवरदिगार की तरफ से तुम पर नाज़िल हई हैं उन पर चलो (मगर) उसके क़ब्ल कि तुम पर एक बारगी अज़ाब नाज़िल हो और तुमको उसकी ख़बर भी न हो
