Quran 12:12 Tafsir Al-Jalalayn
Send him forth with us tomorrow to the desert to frolic and play read first person plural narta‘ wa-nal‘ab ‘that we might frolic and play’ or third person plural yarta‘ wa-yal‘ab ‘that he might frolic and play’ in other words so that we might be spirited and roam freely. Surely we shall take good care of him’.
Almuntakhab Fi Tafsir Alquran Alkarim
Send him with us tomorrow, they said, to enjoy himself, to eat and drink in a picnic fashion and to take part in a game affording him pleasure, and we will take care of him and see that he is not exposed to danger
Quran 12:12 Tafsir Ibn Kathir
Yusuf's Brothers ask for Their Father's Permission to take Yusuf with Them
When Yusuf's brothers agreed to take him and throw him down the well, taking the advice of their elder brother Rubil, they went to their father Ya`qub, peace be upon him.
They said to him, "Why is it that you,
لاَ تَأْمَنَّا عَلَى يُوسُفَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَنَـصِحُونَ
( do not trust us with Yusuf though we are indeed his well-wishers )." They started executing their plan by this introductory statement, even though they really intended its opposite, out of envy towards Yusuf for being loved by his father.
They said,
أَرْسِلْهُ مَعَنَا
"( Send him with us ) tomorrow so that we all enjoy ourselves and play." Qatadah, Ad-Dahhak and As-Suddi said similarly.
Yusuf's brothers said next,
وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَـفِظُونَ
( and verily, we will take care of him. ), we will protect him and ensure his safety for you.
Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi

Send him with us tomorrow that he meaning
*11) In this thing also the Qur'an differs from the Bible and the Talmud, according to which it was not the brothers, who requested their father to send Joseph with them but Prophet Jacob himself sent him with an errand to Shechem, where they were feeding their father's flocks.
Obviously the version of the Qur'an is more realistic, for Prophet Jacob could never have thought of sending his beloved son with there, because he knew it full well that they were envious of hue, and sending him there would have been sending Joseph deliberately into the jaws of death.

Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali
"Send him with us tomorrow to enjoy himself and play, and verily, we will take care of him."
