﴿هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْغَاشِيَةِ﴾
[ الغاشية: 1]

بھلا تم کو ڈھانپ لینے والی (یعنی قیامت کا) حال معلوم ہوا ہے

(1) هَلْ بمعنی قَدْ ہے۔ غَاشِيَةٌ سے مراد قیامت ہے۔ اس لئے کہ اس کی ہولناکیاں تمام مخلوق کو ڈھانک لیں گی۔

(88:1) Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? *1

Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]? meaning

*1) "The over-shadowing calamity": the Resurrection which will overshadow the whole world. One should know that here the Hereafter as a whole is being depicted, which comprehends aII the stages from the upsetting of the present system to the resurrection of all human beings and the dispensation of rewards and punishments from the Divine Court.

  3. کیا تم نے حاجیوں کو پانی پلانا اور مسجد محترم یعنی (خانہٴ کعبہ) کو آباد
  4. اس دن انسان کو جو (عمل) اس نے آگے بھیجے اور پیچھے چھوڑے ہوں گے
  5. اور اگر یہ لوگ اعتراض کریں تو (اے پیغمبر) تمہارا کام فقط کھول کر سنا
  6. اور اگر خدا چاہتا تو ان کو ایک ہی جماعت کردیتا لیکن وہ جس کو
  7. کیا ان لوگوں نے خدا کی مخلوقات میں سے ایسی چیزیں نہیں دیکھیں جن کے
  8. اور جب تم ظلم کرتے رہے تو آج تمہیں یہ بات فائدہ نہیں دے سکتی
  9. (کافر) کہتے ہیں کیا ہم الٹے پاؤں پھر لوٹ جائیں گے
  10. جو نماز کی پابندی کرتے اور زکوٰة دیتے اور آخرت کا یقین رکھتے ہیں
