﴿وَمَا عَلَّمۡنَٰهُ ٱلشِّعۡرَ وَمَا يَنۢبَغِي لَهُۥٓۚ إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكۡرٞ وَقُرۡءَانٞ مُّبِينٞ ﴾ [Yā-Sīn: 69]
(69) And We did not give Prophet Muhammad, knowledge of poetry, nor is it befitting for him. It is not but a message and a clear Qur'an

﴿
وَيَقُولُونَ أَئِنَّا لَتَارِكُوٓاْ ءَالِهَتِنَا لِشَاعِرٖ مَّجۡنُونِۭ * بَلۡ جَآءَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَصَدَّقَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ ﴾ [Aṣ-Ṣāffāt: 36-37]
(36) And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet?" (37) Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers.

﴿
إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوۡلُ رَسُولٖ كَرِيمٖ * وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوۡلِ شَاعِرٖۚ قَلِيلٗا مَّا تُؤۡمِنُونَ ﴾ [Al-Ḥāqqah: 40-41]
(40) [That] indeed, the Qur'an is the word of a noble Messenger. (41) And it is not the word of a poet; little do you believe.
