surah Assaaffat aya 36 , English translation of the meaning Ayah.
﴿وَيَقُولُونَ أَئِنَّا لَتَارِكُو آلِهَتِنَا لِشَاعِرٍ مَّجْنُونٍ﴾
[ الصافات: 36]
37:36 And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet?"
Tafsir Ibn Katheer in EnglishAnd they would say, justifying their disbelief: “Should we leave the worship of our idols because of the words of a mad poet?” intending through this statement of theirs: the Messenger of Allah ( peace be upon him ).

And (they) said: "Are we going to abandon our aliha (gods) for the sake of a mad poet?
phonetic Transliteration
Wayaqooloona ainna latarikoo alihatina lishaAAirin majnoonin
Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation
And say: "What! shall we give up our gods for the sake of a Poet possessed?"
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri
And (they) said: "Are we going to abandon our gods for the sake of a mad poet"
We try our best to translate, keeping in mind the Italian saying: "Traduttore, traditore", which means: "Translation is a betrayal of the original text".
