When We sent to them two but they denied them, so We (36:14)

﴿إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْهِمُ اثْنَيْنِ فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَعَزَّزْنَا بِثَالِثٍ فَقَالُوا إِنَّا إِلَيْكُم مُّرْسَلُونَ﴾
[ يس: 14]

36:14 When We sent to them two but they denied them, so We strengthened them with a third, and they said, "Indeed, we are messengers to you."

When I sent to them at first two messengers to call them to Allah’s Oneness and His worship.
But they rejected these two messengers.
Then we sent as reinforcement for these two a third Messenger with them.
The three messengers said to the people of the town: We - all three of us - have been sent to you, to call you to Allah’s Oneness and to follow His law.

When We sent to them two Messengers, they belied them both, so We reinforced them with a third, and they said: "Verily! We have been sent to you as Messengers."

phonetic Transliteration

Ith arsalna ilayhimu ithnayni fakaththaboohuma faAAazzazna bithalithin faqaloo inna ilaykum mursaloona

Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation

When We (first) sent to them two messengers, they rejected them: But We strengthened them with a third: they said, "Truly, we have been sent on a mission to you."

Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri

When We sent to them two Messengers, they denied them both; so We reinforced them with a third, and they said: "Verily, we have been sent to you as Messengers."
