surah Qalam aya 17 , English translation of the meaning Ayah.
﴿إِنَّا بَلَوْنَاهُمْ كَمَا بَلَوْنَا أَصْحَابَ الْجَنَّةِ إِذْ أَقْسَمُوا لَيَصْرِمُنَّهَا مُصْبِحِينَ﴾
[ القلم: 17]
68:17 Indeed, We have tried them as We tried the companions of the garden, when they swore to cut its fruit in the [early] morning
Tafsir Ibn Katheer in EnglishIndeed, I have tested these idolaters with drought and hunger, just as I tested the people of the garden when they swore that they will quickly harvest its fruits in the morning, so that the poor cannot eat from them.
Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali
Verily, We have tried them as We tried the people of the garden, when they swore to pluck the fruits of the (garden) in the morning,

Inna balawnahum kama balawna ashaba aljannati ith aqsamoo layasrimunnaha musbiheena

Verily We have tried them as We tried the People of the Garden, when they resolved to gather the fruits of the (garden) in the morning.
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri
Verily, We have tried them as We tried the People of the Garden, when they swore to pluck the fruits in the morning,
We try our best to translate, keeping in mind the Italian saying: "Traduttore, traditore", which means: "Translation is a betrayal of the original text".
