﴿وَقَالُوا يَا أَيُّهَ السَّاحِرُ ادْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ بِمَا عَهِدَ عِندَكَ إِنَّنَا لَمُهْتَدُونَ﴾
[ الزخرف: 49]

English - Sahih International

43:49 And they said [to Moses], "O magician, invoke for us your Lord by what He has promised you. Indeed, we will be guided."

Abridged Explanation of the Quran

So when some of the punishment came upon them, they said to Moses ( peace be upon him ), “O sorcerer! Pray to your Lord for us asking Him to remove this punishment just as He said He would if we believed.
If it is removed from us, we will be guided to the truth.
”

Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali

And they said [to Musa (Moses)]: "O you sorcerer! Invoke your Lord for us according to what He has covenanted with you. Verily, We shall guide ourselves (aright)."

Waqaloo ya ayyuha alsahiru odAAu lana rabbaka bima AAahida AAindaka innana lamuhtadoona

Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation

And they said, "O thou sorcerer! Invoke thy Lord for us according to His covenant with thee; for we shall truly accept guidance."

Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri

And they said (to Musa): "O you sorcerer! Invoke your Lord for us according to what He has made a pact with you. Verily, We shall guide ourselves."
