And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay. (23:12)

﴿وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ مِن سُلَالَةٍ مِّن طِينٍ﴾
[ المؤمنون: 12]

23:12 And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay.

Verily, I created the father of mankind, Adam, from clay.
I took the soil he was created from, from a mixture of water and the soil of the earth.

And indeed We created man (Adam) out of an extract of clay (water and earth).

Walaqad khalaqna alinsana min sulalatin min teenin

Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation

Man We did create from a quintessence (of clay);

Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri

And indeed We created man out of an extract of Tin.
