Surah Araf ayat 162 Tafsir Quran 7:162

﴿فَبَدَّلَ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا مِنْهُمْ قَوْلًا غَيْرَ الَّذِي قِيلَ لَهُمْ فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِجْزًا مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ بِمَا كَانُوا يَظْلِمُونَ﴾
[ الأعراف: 162]

7:162 But those who wronged among them changed [the words] to a statement other than that which had been said to them. So We sent upon them a punishment from the sky for the wrong that they were doing.

But the evildoers among them substituted a saying other than that which had been said to them they said instead ‘A grain inside a hair’ and entered the gate dragging themselves on their rears. So We sent down upon them terror a chastisement from the heaven for their evildoing.

But the wrongful of actions exchanged the virtuous spoken discourse authorized by heaven for the false discourse of their own making, and in consequence did Heaven come upon them with a forcible impact of a torturing punishment in requital of their wickedness

And We divided them into twelve tribes ( as distinct ) nations.
We revealed to Musa when his people asked him for water ( saying ): "Strike the stone with your stick," and there gushed forth out of it twelve springs, each group knew its own place for water.
We shaded them with the clouds and sent down upon them the manna and the quail ( saying ): "Eat of the good things with which We have provided you." They harmed Us not but they used to harm themselves ( 160 )And ( remember ) when it was said to them: "Dwell in this town ( Jerusalem ) and eat therefrom wherever you wish, and say, '( O Allah ) forgive our sins'; and enter the gate prostrating ( bowing with humility ).
We shall forgive you your wrongdoings.
We shall increase ( the reward ) for the good-doers.
( 161 )But those among them who did wrong, changed the word that had been told to them.
So We sent on them a torment from the heaven in return for their wrongdoings ( 162 ) We discussed these Ayat in Surat Al-Baqarah, which was revealed in Al-Madinah, while these Ayat were revealed in Makkah.
We also mentioned the difference between the two narrations, and thus we do not need to repeat it here, all thanks are due to Allah and all the favors are from Him.

(7:162) Then the wrong-doers among them substituted another word in place of the one told them. So We sent upon them a scourge from the heaven as a punishment for their Wrong-doing.  *121

( But those of them who did wrong ) the sinning people ( changed the word which had been told them for another saying ) they were commanded to say " hittah [ there is no deity except Allah; or as in the other meaning: forgive our sins " ] but instead said " hintah [ wheat ] " , ( and We sent down upon them wrath from heaven ) We sent upon them the plague from heaven ( for their wrong-doing ) for changing what they were commanded to say.

But those among them who did wrong changed the word that had been told to them. So We sent on them a torment from heaven in return for their wrong-doings.
