Quran 17:25 Tafsir Al-Jalalayn
Your Lord knows best what is in your hearts in the way of what may be concealed of dutifulness or disobedience to parents. If you are righteous obedient to God then truly to those who are penitent those who return to obedience of Him He is Forgiving of any slip that might have issued on their part regarding their duty to the parents so long as they do not conceal within themselves any disrespect towards them.
Almuntakhab Fi Tafsir Alquran Alkarim
Allah, my Creator, knows best your thoughts and feelings and all that is stored in your innermost being. If you happen to be virtuous, He is indeed forgiving to those who in lowliest plight repentant stand
Quran 17:25 Tafsir Ibn Kathir
Omissions comitted against Parents are pardoned with Good Relations and Repentance
Sa`id bin Jubayr said: "This refers to a man who said something that he did not think would be offensive to his parents." According to another report: "He did not mean anything bad by that." So Allah said:
( Your Lord knows best what is in your souls.
If you are righteous, )
( He is Ever Most Forgiving to those who turn to Him in repentance. ) Qatadah said: "To the obedient who pray."
( He is Ever Most Forgiving to those who turn to Him in repentance. ) Shu`bah narrated from Yahya bin Sa`id from Sa`id bin Al-Musayyib; "This refers to those who commit sin then repent, and commit sin then repent." `Ata' bin Yasar, Sa`id bin Jubayr and Mujahid said: "They are the ones who return to goodness." Mujahid narrated from `Ubayd bin `Umayr, concerning this Ayah: "This is the one who, when he remembers his sin when he is alone, he seeks the forgiveness of Allah." Mujahid agreed with him on that.
Ibn Jarir said: "The best view on this matter is of those who said that it refers to the one who repents after committing sin, who comes back from disobedience to obedience and who leaves that which Allah hates for that which He loves and is pleased with.
" What he said is correct, for Allah says,
( Verily, to Us will be their return ) ( 88:25 ).
And according to a Sahih Hadith, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would say when he returned from a journey,
«آيِبُونَ تَائِبُونَ، عَابِدُونَ لِرَبِّنَا حَامِدُون»
( We have returned repenting, worshipping and praising our Lord. )
Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi
(17:25) Your Lord best knows what is in your minds. if you live righteously, He surely forgives and turns towards all such people as are penitent and obedient. *27
Your Lord is most knowing of what meaning
*27) This verse enjoins that after Allah's right, the greatest of aII the human rights is the right of parents: therefore, the children should obey and serve and respect their parents.
The collective morality of society should make it incumbent on children to be grateful and respectful to their parents, they should serve them as they nursed and brought them up in their childhood.
Above aII, this verse is not merely a moral recommendation but is the basis of the rights and powers of parents the details of which we find in the Books of Hadith and Fiqh.
Moreover, respectful behaviour and obedience to and observance of the rights of parents comprise the most important element of the material education and moral training in the Islamic Society and civilization.
Incidentally, all these things have determined for ever the principle that the Islamic State shall make the family life sound and secure by laws, administrative regulations and educational policy and prevent its disintegration.

( Your Lord is best aware of what is in your minds ) what is in your hearts of goodness and kindness towards the parents. ( If ye are righteous ) if you are dutiful towards your parents, ( then lo! He was ever Forgiving unto those who turn (unto Him )) He forgives those who repent. This verse was revealed about Sa’d Ibn Abi Waqqas.

Your Lord knows best what is in your inner-selves. If you are righteous, then, verily, He is Ever Most Forgiving to those who turn unto Him again and again in obedience, and in repentance.
