Quran 21:37 Tafsir Al-Jalalayn
The following was revealed regarding their demand that chastisement be hastened Man was created of haste that is to say because he is so hasty in his affairs it is as if he had been created out of it. Assuredly I shall show you My signs My promises of chastisement so do not demand that I hasten in sending it. And so He God made them suffer death at the battle of Badr.
Almuntakhab Fi Tafsir Alquran Alkarim
Man has been created with the innate propensity to be unduly hasty of spirit; I will exhibit to you My acts and My marvels serving to demonstrate divine power and authority, therefore, do not ask Me to hasten them on
Quran 21:37 Tafsir Ibn Kathir
How the Idolators mocked the Prophet Allah tells His Prophet ...
وَإِذَا رَآكَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ
( And when those who disbelieved see you, ) meaning, the disbelievers of the Quraysh, such as Abu Jahl and his like.
إِن يَتَّخِذُونَكَ إِلاَّ هُزُواً
( they take you not except for mockery ) means, they make fun of you and insult you, saying,
أَهَـذَا الَّذِى يَذْكُرُ آلِهَتَكُمْ
( "Is this the one who talks about your gods" ) meaning, is this the one who insults your gods and ridicules your intelligence Allah says:
وَهُمْ بِذِكْرِ الرَّحْمَـنِ هُمْ كَـفِرُونَ
( While they disbelieve at the mention of the Most Gracious. ) meaning, they disbelieve in Allah and yet they mock the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
As Allah says:
( And when they see you, they treat you only in mockery (saying ): "Is this the one whom Allah has sent as a Messenger He would have nearly misled us from our gods, had it not been that we were patient and constant in their worship!" And they will know, when they see the torment, who it is that is most astray from the path!) 25:41-42
خُلِقَ الإنْسَانُ مِنْ عَجَلٍ
( Man is created of haste. ) This is like the Ayah:
وَكَانَ الإِنْسَـنُ عَجُولاً
( and man is ever hasty ) 17:11, in all matters.
The reason why the haste of man is mentioned here is that when mention is made of those who mock the Messenger , ( the believers ) will want to avenge them swiftly, and that so should happen sooner.
Allah says,
خُلِقَ الإنْسَانُ مِنْ عَجَلٍ
( Man is created of haste. ) because He delays ( the punishment ) until a time when, once He seizes him, He will never let him go.
He delays it, then He hastens it; He waits, then He does not delay any longer.
So He says:
سَأُوْرِيكُمْ ءَايَـتِى
( I will show you My Ayat ) meaning, My vengeance, ruling and power over those who disobey Me.
فَلاَ تَسْتَعْجِلُونِ
( So ask Me not to hasten (them ).)
Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi
(21:37) Man is a creature of haste (and impatience). *41 Well, you need not be impatient: I will show you My signs before long *42 '
Man was created of haste. I will meaning
*41) This is not the literal translation of the Text; its purport according to the Arabic usage is: " Man is a hasty and impatient creature by his very nature. " The same thing has been stated in XVII:11: " Man is very hasty and impatient. "
*42) From the succeeding sentences it is obvious that " Signs " here stands for the things that have been mentioned therein-the " threat " of the scourge of Allah, Resurrection and Hell.
They made fun of these, as if to say: " This man threatens us with the scourge of Allah and the torment of the Day of Resurrection if we deny him and that we shall become fuel of Hell; but nothing of the sort has befallen Ps.
We are as strong as ever and nothing seems to be happening ".

Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
( Man ) i.e. Adam ( is made of haste ) he is hasty; it is also said that this means: man, al-Nadr Ibn al-Harth, was created hasty, for he wanted chastisement to be hastened for him. ( I shall show you My portents ) I shall show you the signs of My divine Oneness in the horizons; it is also said that this means: I will show the signs of My punishment of you through the sword on the Day of Badr, ( but ask Me not to hasten ) My chastisement before its appointed time.
Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali
Man is created of haste, I will show you My Ayat (torments, proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). So ask Me not to hasten (them).
We try our best to translate, keeping in mind the Italian saying: "Traduttore, traditore", which means: "Translation is a betrayal of the original text".
