41:47 To him [alone] is attributed knowledge of the Hour. And fruits emerge not from their coverings nor does a female conceive or give birth except with His knowledge. And the Day He will call to them, "Where are My 'partners'?" they will say, "We announce to You that there is [no longer] among us any witness [to that]."

Quran 41:47 Tafsir Al-Jalalayn

To Him devolves all knowledge of the Hour — when it shall come to pass none other than Him knows this. And no fruit thamaratin a variant reading has the plural thamarātin ‘fruits’ emerges from its sheath its receptacle akmām the plural of kimm except with His knowledge and no female bears child or delivers except with His knowledge. And on the day when He will call out to them ‘Where then are My associates?’ they will say ‘We proclaim to You we now apprise You that there is no witness amongst us’ that is a witness who can testify to the allegation that You have an associate.

Almuntakhab Fi Tafsir Alquran Alkarim

To Him, the Ultimate source and Authority is attributed the knowledge of the point of time of the predetermined and Eventful Hour. And no blossoms come out of their calyces as seeds or fruits, nor does a female - human or animal- conceive a seed in her womb or gives birth to - a child or an animal respectively - but come to His knowledge. And there shall come the Day when He - Allah- calls them up-the infidels - to bring into their minds those whom they incorporated with Him. There and then shall they say: We truly acknowledge, by way of reparations, our offence which we do regret and none of us can bear witness to a corporate deity

Quran 41:47 Tafsir Ibn Kathir

Everyone will be requited according to His Deeds مَّنْ عَمِلَ صَـلِحاً فَلِنَفْسِهِ ( Whosoever does righteous good deed, it is for himself; ) means, the benefit of which will come to him. وَمَنْ أَسَآءَ فَعَلَيْهَا ( and whosoever does evil, it is against himself. ) means, the consequences of that will come back on him. وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِظَلَّـمٍ لِّلْعَبِيدِ ( And your Lord is not at all unjust to (His ) servants) means, He only punishes people for their sins, and He does not punish anyone except after establishing proof against him and sending a Messenger to him. Knowledge of the Hour is with Allah Alone Then Allah says: إِلَيْهِ يُرَدُّ عِلْمُ السَّاعَةِ ( To Him is referred the knowledge of the Hour. ) meaning, no one knows about that apart from Him.
Muhammad ﷺ , the leader of mankind, said to Jibril, who is one of the leading angels, when he asked him about the Hour:
«مَا الْمَسْؤُولُ عَنْهَا بِأَعْلَمَ مِنَ السَّائِل»
( The one who is asked about it does not know more than the one who is asking. )" And Allah says: إِلَى رَبِّكَ مُنتَهَـهَآ ( To your Lord belongs the term thereof. ) ( 79:44 ) لاَ يُجَلِّيهَا لِوَقْتِهَآ إِلاَّ هُوَ ( None can reveal its time but He ) ( 7:187 ). وَمَا تَخْرُجُ مِن ثَمَرَتٍ مِّنْ أَكْمَامِهَا وَمَا تَحْمِلُ مِنْ أُنْثَى وَلاَ تَضَعُ إِلاَّ بِعِلْمِهِ ( No fruit comes out of its sheath, nor does a female conceive nor brings forth (young ), except by His knowledge.) means, all of that is known to Him, and nothing is hidden from your Lord the weight of a speck of dust on the earth or in the heaven.
Allah says: وَمَا تَسْقُطُ مِن وَرَقَةٍ إِلاَّ يَعْلَمُهَا ( not a leaf falls, but He knows it ) ( 6:59 ). يَعْلَمُ مَا تَحْمِلُ كُلُّ أُنثَى وَمَا تَغِيضُ الاٌّرْحَامُ وَمَا تَزْدَادُ وَكُلُّ شَىْءٍ عِندَهُ بِمِقْدَارٍ ( Allah knows what every female bears, and by how much the wombs fall short or exceed.
Everything with Him is in (due )
proportion) ( 13:8 ). وَمَا يُعَمَّرُ مِن مُّعَمَّرٍ وَلاَ يُنقَصُ مِنْ عُمُرِهِ إِلاَّ فِى كِتَـبٍ إِنَّ ذَلِكَ عَلَى اللَّهِ يَسِيرٌ ( And no aged man is granted a length of life nor is a part cut off from his life, but is in a Book.
Surely, that is easy for Allah. )
( 35:11 ) وَيَوْمَ يُنَادِيهِمْ أَيْنَ شُرَكَآئِى ( And on the Day when He will call unto them (saying ): "Where are My ( so-called ) partners") means, on the Day of Resurrection, Allah will call out to the idolators before all of creation and say, "Where are My partners whom you worshipped besides Me" قَالُواْ ءَاذَنَّاكَ ( They will say: "We inform You..." ) means, `we tell You,' مَا مِنَّا مِن شَهِيدٍ ( that none of us bears witness to it. ) means, `not one of us will bear witness today that You have any partner.' وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَدْعُونَ مِن قَبْلُ ( And those whom they used to invoke before (in this world ) shall disappear from them, ) means, they will go away, and will be of no benefit to them. وَظَنُّواْ مَا لَهُمْ مِّن مَّحِيصٍ ( and they will perceive that they have no place of refuge ) means, they will have no way of escaping from the punishment of Allah.
This is like the Ayah: وَرَأَى الْمُجْرِمُونَ النَّارَ فَظَنُّواْ أَنَّهُمْ مُّوَاقِعُوهَا وَلَمْ يَجِدُواْ عَنْهَا مَصْرِفًا ( And the criminals shall see the Fire and apprehend that they have to fall therein.
And they will find no way of escape from there. )
( 18:53 )

Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi

(41:47) The knowledge of the Hour *61 rests solely with Him. *60 Not a fruit comes forth from its sheath, nor does any female conceive nor give birth to a child but it is in His knowledge. *62 On that Day He will call out to them: 'Where are those associates of Mine?' They will answer: 'We have declared to You that none of us can bear witness to that.' *63

To him [alone] is attributed knowledge of meaning

*60) That is, " None but Allah knows when the Hour would occur.
"
This is the answer to the disbelievers' question as to when the threat being given them of meeting with the consequences of their evil deeds will be carried out.
Allah has answered their question without citing it.

*61) " The Hour ": the Hour of Resurrection, i.e.
the Hour when the evildoers will be punished for their evil and the grievances of the oppressed good people will be redressed.

*62) By this the listeners have been made to realize two things: ( 1 ) That not only of Resurrection but the knowledge of all unseen things is reserved for Allah alone; there is no other knower of the unseen; and ( 2 ) that God Who possesses the detailed knowledge of the most minor things cannot remain unaware of the acts and deeds of anybody.
Therefore, no one in His Kingdom should act fearlessly, with impunity.
Only according to this second meaning the sentence becomes relevant to what follows.
If one studies the following sentences the theme that immediately becomes obvious is: " Don't concern your selves about finding our the date of the coming of Resurrection; you should, however, be anxious about the consequences of your deviations you will have to bear when it comes.
"
This same thing had the Holy Prophet once said to a person, who asked him the date of the coming of Resurrection.
All the major collections of Hadith contain a commonly reported Tradition to the effect: " Once when the Holy Prophet was on a journey, a man on the way shouted his name from a distance.
The Holy Prophet asked what he wanted to say.
He said: When will Resurrection come? The Holy Prophet replied: It must come in any case! What preparations have you made for it? "

*63) That is, " Now we have realized that what we had in our minds was absolutely wrong.
Now none among us is of the view that there is another one also who is Your associate in Godhead. "
The words " we have submitted " show that on the Day of Resurrection the disbelievers will be asked again and again, on every occasion, "In the world you went on refusing to believe what the Messengers of God said: now say who was in the right: they or you? And the disbelievers will every time confess that the truth indeed was that which the Messengers preached and they themselves were in the wrong because they forsook the knowledge and persisted in their own ignorance.

( 18:53 )

Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs

( Unto Him is referred (all ) knowledge of the Hour) the knowledge of the time of the Hour is known only by Allah. ( And no fruits burst forth from their sheaths, and no female carrieth ) a child ( or bringeth forth ) or delivers her child ( but with His knowledge ) except with His leave, and no one knows this except Him. ( And on the day when He calleth unto them ) while they are in the Fire and say: ( Where are now My partners ) where are those whom you worshipped and claimed to be My partners? ( they will say: We confess unto Thee ) We have told you and let you know before: ( not one of us is a witness (for them )) none of us will testify against himself that he had worshipped anyone other than you.

Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali

(The learned men) refer to Him (Alone) the knowledge of the Hour. No fruit comes out of its sheath, nor does a female conceive (within her womb), nor brings forth (young), except by His Knowledge. And on the Day when He will call unto them (polytheists) (saying): "Where are My (so-called) partners (whom you did invent)?" They will say: "We inform You that none of us bears witness to it (that they are Your partners)!"
