27:63 Is He [not best] who guides you through the darknesses of the land and sea and who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy? Is there a deity with Allah? High is Allah above whatever they associate with Him.

Quran 27:63 Tafsir Al-Jalalayn

Or He Who guides you shows you the way to your destinations in the darkness of the land and the sea by the stars at night and by the various landmarks during the day and Who sends forth the winds as harbingers of His mercy ahead of the rain. Is there a god with God? Exalted be God high above what others they associate with Him!

Almuntakhab Fi Tafsir Alquran Alkarim

Who is He who guides you in the darkness on land and at sea and Who sends the wind as a forerunner of His mercy heralding a joyful event! Is it an Ilah sharing the Omnipotence and Authority of Allah! Glory be to Him and extolled are His glorious attributes. He is infinitely far beyond all those they incorporate with Him

Quran 27:63 Tafsir Ibn Kathir

أَمَّن يَهْدِيكُمْ فِى ظُلُمَـتِ الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ ( Is not He Who guides you in the darkness of the land and the sea, ) meaning, by means of what He has created of heavenly and earthly signposts.
This is like the Ayah, وَعَلامَـتٍ وَبِالنَّجْمِ هُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ ( And landmarks and by the stars, they guide themselves. ) ( 16:16 ) وَهُوَ الَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ النُّجُومَ لِتَهْتَدُواْ بِهَا فِى ظُلُمَـتِ الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ ( It is He Who has set the stars for you, so that you may guide your course with their help through the darkness of the land and the sea... ) ( 6:97 ) وَمَن يُرْسِلُ الرِّيَاحَ بُشْرًاَ بَيْنَ يَدَىْ رَحْمَتِهِ ( and Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings, going before His mercy ) meaning, ahead of the clouds which bring rain, by means of which Allah shows His mercy to His servants who are suffering drought and despair. أَءِلَـهٌ مَّعَ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى اللَّهُ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ ( Is there any god with Allah Exalted be Allah above all that they associate as partners! )

Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi

(27:63) And Who is it Who shows you the way in the darkness of the land and the sea, *78 and Who sends the winds as harbingers of His mercy? *79 Is there besides Allah another god (who does this)? Far exalted is Allah above what they associate with Him .

Is He [not best] who guides you meaning

*78) That is, " He has made such arrangements by means of the stars that you can find your way even in the darkness of the night. " This is also because of the wise planning of Allah that He has created such means by which man can determine his direction and the way to his destination in his journeys by sea and land.
In the day time he is guided by different land-marks and the direction of sunrise and sun-set, and in the dark nights by the stars.
In Surah An-Nahl this has been counted among the bounties of AIlah: " He has placed land-marks to direct people, and by the stars, too, they are guided aright. " ( v.
16 )

*79) " Allah's mercy " the rain whose coming is promptly foretold by the winds.

Tafsir Maarif-ul-Quran Mufti Muhammad Shafi

أَمَّن يَهْدِيكُمْ فِى ظُلُمَـتِ الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ ( Is not He Who guides you in the darkness of the land and the sea, ) meaning, by means of what He has created of heavenly and earthly signposts.

Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs

( Is not He (best ) Who guideth you) Who saves you ( in the darkness of the land and the sea ) from the turmoil of the land and the sea when you travel, ( He Who sendeth the winds as heralds of His mercy ) announcing the rain? ( Is there any God beside Allah ) who does this? ( High exalted be Allah ) Allah absolves Himself ( from all that they ascribe as partner (unto Him )) of idols!

Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali

Is not He (better than your gods) Who guides you in the darkness of the land and the sea, and Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings, going before His Mercy (rain)? Is there any ilah (god) with Allah? High Exalted be Allah above all that they associate as partners (to Him)!
