﴿يَقُولُ يَا لَيْتَنِي قَدَّمْتُ لِحَيَاتِي﴾
[ الفجر: 24]
89:24 He will say, "Oh, I wish I had sent ahead [some good] for my life."
Tafsir Ibn Katheer in EnglishHe will say out of intense regret: “If only I had sent forth good deeds for my life Hereafter, which is the real life.
”
Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali
He will say: "Alas! Would that I had sent forth (good deeds) for (this) my life!"
phonetic Transliteration
Yaqoolu ya laytanee qaddamtu lihayatee
Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation
He will say: "Ah! Would that I had sent forth (good deeds) for (this) my (Future) Life!"
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri
He will say: "Alas! Would that I had sent forth for my life!"
