﴿وَيَعْلَمَ الَّذِينَ يُجَادِلُونَ فِي آيَاتِنَا مَا لَهُم مِّن مَّحِيصٍ﴾
[ الشورى: 35]

42:35 And [that is so] those who dispute concerning Our signs may know that for them there is no place of escape.

Tafsir Ibn Katheer in English

Abridged Explanation of the Quran

When those ships are destroyed by sending gale-force winds, those who dispute in respect of Allah’s signs, in order to refute them, will know that they have no escape from destruction.
Then they will only call on Allah and leave those besides Him.

Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali

And those who dispute (polytheists, etc. with Our Messenger Muhammad SAW) as regards Our Ayat (proofs, signs, verses, etc. of Islamic Monotheism) may know that there is no place of refuge for them (from Allah's punishment).

WayaAAlama allatheena yujadiloona fee ayatina ma lahum min maheesin

Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation

But let those know, who dispute about Our Signs, that there is for them no way of escape.

A matter of fact to be apprehended by the minds of those who contend with opposing arguments against Our signs, and seem resolved to dispute the truth of Our revelations, that there is no escape nor can they go unpunished

Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran by Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi

(42:35) Then those who wrangle about Our Signs will come to know that there is no escape for them. *54

And [that is so] those who dispute concerning Our signs may know meaning

*54) The Quraish, in connection with their business and trade, had also to visit Habash and the coastal lands of Africa, and in these journeys they used sailing ships and boats for crossing the Red Sea, which is a very dangerous sea. It is generally stormy and abounds in submerged rocks which are a serious hazard for navigation especially during the storms. Therefore, the state that has been depicted here by Allah could be fully realized by the people of the Quraish in the light of their personal experiences.

اور اُس وقت ہماری آیات میں جھگڑے کرنے والوں کو پتہ چل جائے کہ ان کے لیے کوئی جائے پناہ نہیں ہے
