surah Saba aya 41 , English translation of the meaning Ayah.
﴿قَالُوا سُبْحَانَكَ أَنتَ وَلِيُّنَا مِن دُونِهِم ۖ بَلْ كَانُوا يَعْبُدُونَ الْجِنَّ ۖ أَكْثَرُهُم بِهِم مُّؤْمِنُونَ﴾
[ سبأ: 41]
34:41 They will say, "Exalted are You! You, [O Allah], are our benefactor not them. Rather, they used to worship the jinn; most of them were believers in them."
Tafsir Ibn Katheer in EnglishThe angels will say: “You are pure and exalted.
You are our guardian, not them, so there is no friendship between us and them, but rather these idolaters used to worship the satans.
They used to appear to them as angels, so they would worship them besides Allah, most of them were believers in them”.
Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali
They (angels) will say: "Glorified be You! You are our Wali (Lord) instead of them. Nay, but they used to worship the jinns; most of them were believers in them."
phonetic Transliteration
Qaloo subhanaka anta waliyyuna min doonihim bal kanoo yaAAbudoona aljinna aktharuhum bihim muminoona
Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation
They will say, "Glory to Thee! our (tie) is with Thee - as Protector - not with them. Nay, but they worshipped the Jinns: most of them believed in them."
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri
They (the angels) will say: "Glorified be You! You are our Protector instead of them. Nay, but they used to worship the Jinn; most of them were believers in them."
