﴿وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍ مِّن قَبْلُ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَوْمًا فَاسِقِينَ﴾
[ الذاريات: 46]

English - Sahih International

51:46 And [We destroyed] the people of Noah before; indeed, they were a people defiantly disobedient.

Abridged Explanation of the Quran

And I destroyed the people of Noah through flooding before these who have been mentioned.
They were a people who left the obedience of Allah, so they deserved His punishment.

Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali

(So were) the people of Nuh (Noah) before them. Verily, they were a people who were Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah).

Waqawma noohin min qablu innahum kanoo qawman fasiqeena

Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation

So were the People of Noah before them for they wickedly transgressed.

Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri
