37:141 And he drew lots and was among the losers.
Tafsir Ibn Katheer in EnglishThe ship was close to sinking because of its load, so the passengers drew lots to throw some of them overboard, fearing its sinking because of too many passengers.
Jonah was one of the names that were drawn, and so they threw him in to the sea.
