﴿وَقَالَتْ لِأُخْتِهِ قُصِّيهِ ۖ فَبَصُرَتْ بِهِ عَن جُنُبٍ وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ﴾

28:11 And she said to his sister, "Follow him"; so she watched him from a distance while they perceived not.

Abridged Explanation of the Quran

And after she had cast him into the sea, Moses’s mother said to his sister, “Follow him so that you know what happens to him”, and so she observed him from a distance so that she was not implicated.
Pharaoh and his people were not aware that she was his sister and that she was keeping an eye on him.

Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali

And she said to his [Musa's (Moses)] sister: "Follow him." So she (his sister) watched him from a far place secretly, while they perceived not.

Waqalat liokhtihi qusseehi fabasurat bihi AAan junubin wahum la yashAAuroona

Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation

And she said to the sister of (Moses), "Follow him" so she (the sister) watched him in the character of a stranger. And they knew not.

Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri

And she said to his sister: "Follow him." So she watched him from a far place (secretly), while they perceived not.

(28:11) She said to his sister, "Follow him up. " So, she watched him from a distance in a manner that (the enemies) did not notice it." *13

And she said to his sister, "Follow him"; so she watched him meaning

*13) That is, the girl walked along and watched the floating basket in such a manner that the enemies could not know that she had anything to do with the child in it. According to the Israelite traditions, this sister of the Prophet Moses was 10 to 12 years old. She followed up her brother intelligently and cleverly and ascertained that he had been picked up by the Pharaoh's household.
