Verse 167 from surah Al-Baqarah

﴿وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ اتَّبَعُوا لَوْ أَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةً فَنَتَبَرَّأَ مِنْهُمْ كَمَا تَبَرَّءُوا مِنَّا ۗ كَذَٰلِكَ يُرِيهِمُ اللَّهُ أَعْمَالَهُمْ حَسَرَاتٍ عَلَيْهِمْ ۖ وَمَا هُم بِخَارِجِينَ مِنَ النَّارِ﴾
[ البقرة: 167]

English - Sahih International

2:167 Those who followed will say, "If only we had another turn [at worldly life] so we could disassociate ourselves from them as they have disassociated themselves from us." Thus will Allah show them their deeds as regrets upon them. And they are never to emerge from the Fire.

Abridged Explanation of the Quran

The weak and those who followed will say, ‘If only we could go back to the earth, we would reject our leaders as they reject us’.
Allah shows them the severe punishment in the Afterlife and the consequence of following their leaders in falsehood: regrets and sorrow, and they will never leave the fire of Hell.

Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali

And those who followed will say: "If only we had one more chance to return (to the worldly life), we would disown (declare ourselves as innocent from) them as they have disowned (declared themselves as innocent from) us." Thus Allah will show them their deeds as regrets for them. And they will never get out of the Fire.

Waqala allatheena ittabaAAoo law anna lana karratan fanatabarraa minhum kama tabarraoo minna kathalika yureehimu Allahu aAAmalahum hasaratin AAalayhim wama hum bikharijeena mina alnnari

Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation

And those who followed would say: "If only We had one more chance, We would clear ourselves of them, as they have cleared themselves of us." Thus will Allah show them (The fruits of) their deeds as (nothing but) regrets. Nor will there be a way for them out of the Fire.

And those who followed will say: "If only we had one more chance to return (to the worldly life), we would disown (declare ourselves as innocent from) them as they have disowned (declared themselves as innocent from) us. اور وہ لوگ جو دنیا میں اُن کی پیروی کرتے تھے، کہیں گے کہ کاش ہم کو پھر ایک موقع دیا جاتا تو جس طرح آج یہ ہم سے بیزاری ظاہر کر رہے ہیں، ہم اِن سے بیزار ہو کر دکھا دیتے یوں اللہ اِن لوگوں کے وہ اعمال جو یہ دنیا میں کر رہے ہیں، ان کے سامنے اِس طرح لائے گا کہ یہ حسرتوں اور پشیمانیوں کے ساتھ ہاتھ ملتے رہیں گے مگر آگ سے نکلنے کی کوئی راہ نہ پائیں گے
