Verse 36 from surah Al-Anbiya

﴿وَإِذَا رَآكَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا إِن يَتَّخِذُونَكَ إِلَّا هُزُوًا أَهَٰذَا الَّذِي يَذْكُرُ آلِهَتَكُمْ وَهُم بِذِكْرِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ هُمْ كَافِرُونَ﴾
[ الأنبياء: 36]

English - Sahih International

21:36 And when those who disbelieve see you, [O Muhammad], they take you not except in ridicule, [saying], "Is this the one who insults your gods?" And they are, at the mention of the Most Merciful, disbelievers.

Tafsir Ibn Katheer in English

Abridged Explanation of the Quran

O Messenger! When these idolaters see you they only mock you, trying to make you loathsome in the eyes of their followers by saying, “Is this the one who insults the idols that you worship?” whilst they themselves reject the Qur’ān that Allah revealed to them and the blessings He conferred upon them, together with mocking you.
So they themselves are closer to shame, due to their accumulating every evil.

Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali

And when those who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allah) see you (O Muhammad SAW), they take you not except for mockery (saying): "Is this the one who talks (badly) about your gods?" While they disbelieve at the mention of the Most Beneficent (Allah). [Tafsir. Al-Qurtubi].

phonetic Transliteration

Waitha raaka allatheena kafaroo in yattakhithoonaka illa huzuwan ahatha allathee yathkuru alihatakum wahum bithikri alrrahmani hum kafiroona

Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation

When the Unbelievers see thee, they treat thee not except with ridicule. "Is this," (they say), "the one who talks of your gods?" and they blaspheme at the mention of (Allah) Most Gracious!

Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri

And when those who disbelieved see you, they take you not except for mockery (saying): "Is this the one who talks about your gods" While they disbelieve at the mention of the Most Gracious.

And when the infidels see you O Muhammad they receive you with nothing but disdain and scorn which ride sparkling in their eyes and they say: Is this the one who blasphemes your gods! And when Al Rahman is mentioned, their countenances speak blasphemy against Him

Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran by Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi

(21:36) When these disbelievers see you, they scoff at you: they say, "What! Is this the man who speaks slightingly of your deities"? *39 But as for them they discard with disdain the mention of the Merciful. *40

And when those who disbelieve see you, [O Muhammad], they take you meaning

*39) It should be noted that this sentence contains only the reason why they scoffed at him, but does not refer to the expression of "scoff" itself. Obviously, the disbelievers must have been using some other words or expressions of derision to avenge themselves on the Holy Prophet for his rejecting their self-made deities.
*40) This is to rebuke the disbelieves, as if to say, "You cherish so much love of your self-made idols and false gods that you cannot tolerate anything against them; so much so that you scoff at the Messenger of Allah, but, as for you, you are not ashamed that you are stung to the quick when you hear the name of the Merciful and discard His mention with disdain."

And when those who disbelieve see you, [O Muhammad], they take you meaning in Urdu

یہ منکرین حق جب تمہیں دیکھتے ہیں تو تمہارا مذاق بنا لیتے ہیں کہتے ہیں "کیا یہ ہے وہ شخص جو تمہارے خداؤں کا ذکر کیا کرتا ہے؟" اور ان کا اپنا حال یہ ہے کہ رحمان کے ذکر سے منکر ہیں
