And those who emigrated for [the cause of] Allah after they had (16:41)

﴿وَالَّذِينَ هَاجَرُوا فِي اللَّهِ مِن بَعْدِ مَا ظُلِمُوا لَنُبَوِّئَنَّهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً ۖ وَلَأَجْرُ الْآخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ ۚ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ﴾
[ النحل: 41]

16:41 And those who emigrated for [the cause of] Allah after they had been wronged - We will surely settle them in this world in a good place; but the reward of the Hereafter is greater, if only they could know.

Those who left their homes, families and wealth emigrating from the land of disbelief to the land of Islam in search for Allah’s pleasure after having been persecuted by the disbelievers, we will make them settle in the world in a place in which they will be honoured.
But the reward of the afterlife is greater because it includes paradise.
If those who remained behind from emigration knew the reward of those who emigrate they would not have remained behind.

And as for those who emigrated for the Cause of Allah, after suffering oppression, We will certainly give them goodly residence in this world, but indeed the reward of the Hereafter will be greater, if they but knew!

phonetic Transliteration

Waallatheena hajaroo fee Allahi min baAAdi ma thulimoo lanubawwiannahum fee alddunya hasanatan walaajru alakhirati akbaru law kanoo yaAAlamoona

Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation

To those who leave their homes in the cause of Allah, after suffering oppression,- We will assuredly give a goodly home in this world; but truly the reward of the Hereafter will be greater. If they only realised (this)!

Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri

And as for those who emigrated for the cause of Allah, after they had been wronged, We will certainly give them good residence in this world, but indeed the reward of the Hereafter will be greater; if they but knew!
