﴿وَمَا آتَيْنَاهُم مِّن كُتُبٍ يَدْرُسُونَهَا ۖ وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْهِمْ قَبْلَكَ مِن نَّذِيرٍ﴾
[ سبأ: 44]

English - Sahih International

34:44 And We had not given them any scriptures which they could study, and We had not sent to them before you, [O Muhammad], any warner.

Abridged Explanation of the Quran

And I have not give them books which they are reading, which may be a reason for them to pass judgement on the Qur’ān being a lie which Muhammad fabricated, nor did I send towards them, before sending you O Messenger, a messenger who would warn them of Allah’s punishment.

Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali

And We had not given them Scriptures which they could study, nor sent to them before you (O Muhammad SAW) any warner (Messenger).

Wama ataynahum min kutubin yadrusoonaha wama arsalna ilayhim qablaka min natheerin

But We had not given them Books which they could study, nor sent messengers to them before thee as Warners.

But We never sent or revealed to these people* divine Books to apply their minds to acquire learning and by consequence be able to evaluate the Quran. Nor did We send to them before you O Muhammad as Messenger a spectacle and a warning

(34:44) whereas We gave them no Books that they could study nor sent to them any warner before you. *64

And We had not given them any scriptures which they could study, meaning

*64) That is, "Neither a book from God has come to them before this nor a messenger, who might have taught them to worship and serve others than God. Therefore, they arc denying the invitation to Tauhid being given by the Qur'an and Muhammad (upon whom be Allah's peace) due to sheer ignorance, and not on the basis of any knowledge. They have in fact no authority for this."

حالانکہ نہ ہم نے اِن لوگوں کو پہلے کوئی کتاب دی تھی کہ یہ اسے پڑھتے ہوں اور نہ تم سے پہلے ان کی طرف کوئی متنبہ کرنے والا بھیجا تھا
