Surah Muzammil ayat 16 Tafsir Quran 73:16

﴿فَعَصَىٰ فِرْعَوْنُ الرَّسُولَ فَأَخَذْنَاهُ أَخْذًا وَبِيلًا﴾
[ المزمل: 16]

73:16 But Pharaoh disobeyed the messenger, so We seized him with a ruinous seizure.

But Pharaoh disobeyed the messenger so We seized him with a severe seizing.

But Pharaoh disobeyed the Messenger and so he came within the measure of Our wrath which spoke thunder and We subverted him, ruined him and brought him to nought

( But Pharaoh rebelled against the messenger ) i.e. Moses, and did not accept his call, ( whereupon We seized him with no gentle grip ) therefore We punished him with a severe punishment, i.e. by drowning.

But Fir'aun (Pharaoh) disobeyed the Messenger [Musa (Moses)], so We seized him with a severe punishment.
