Quran 11:63 Surah Hud ayat 63 Tafsir Ibn Katheer in English
﴿قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِن كُنتُ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّي وَآتَانِي مِنْهُ رَحْمَةً فَمَن يَنصُرُنِي مِنَ اللَّهِ إِنْ عَصَيْتُهُ ۖ فَمَا تَزِيدُونَنِي غَيْرَ تَخْسِيرٍ﴾
[ هود: 63]
11:63 He said, "O my people, have you considered: if I should be upon clear evidence from my Lord and He has given me mercy from Himself, who would protect me from Allah if I disobeyed Him? So you would not increase me except in loss.

Quran 11:63 Tafsir Al-Jalalayn
He said ‘O my people have you considered if I am acting upon a clear proof a clear statement from my Lord and He has given me from Him mercy prophethood who will help me who will defend me against God against His chastisement if I disobey Him? You would only be adding by commanding me to do that to my loss my misguidance.
Almuntakhab Fi Tafsir Alquran Alkarim
There did Saleh say: My people, pause here and think and think but this: what if Allah has enlightened my thoughts and my innermost being and imparted to me knowledge, wisdom and spiritual light and extended His mercy to me! Then, how can I neglect the duty of relating His message to the people when it has been entrusted to me. This shall be disobedience. if I am to disobey Allah, who then can save me from His punishment! You people are simply trying to lead me into error and make me lose my way and incur privation of Allahs mercy

The Conversation between Salih and the People of Thamud
Allah, the Exalted, mentions what transpired in the discussion between Salih and his people.
Allah informs of their ignorance and obstinacy in their statement,
قَدْ كُنتَ فِينَا مَرْجُوًّا قَبْلَ هَـذَا
( You have been among us as a figure of good hope till this! ) They were saying in this, "We had hope in your strong intellect before you began saying what you have said."
أَتَنْهَانَآ أَن نَّعْبُدَ مَا يَعْبُدُ ءابَاؤُنَا
( Do you (now ) forbid us the worship of what our fathers have worshipped) "what those who were before us were upon."
وَإِنَّنَا لَفِى شَكٍّ مِّمَّا تَدْعُونَآ إِلَيْهِ مُرِيبٍ
( But we are really in grave doubt as to that which you invite us. ) This alludes to the great amount of doubt that they had.
قَالَ يقَوْمِ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِن كُنتُ عَلَى بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّى
( He said: "O my people! Tell me, if I have a clear proof from my Lord..." ) `In reference to what He ( Allah ) has sent me with to you, I am upon conviction and sure evidence.'
وَءَاتَـنِى مِنْهُ رَحْمَةً فَمَن يَنصُرُنِى مِنَ اللَّهِ إِنْ عَصَيْتُهُ
( and there has come to me a mercy from Him, who then can help me against Allah, if I were to disobey Him ) `and abandon calling you to the truth and the worship of Allah alone.
If I did so, you would not be able to bring me any benefit, nor increase me
غَيْرَ تَخْسِيرٍ
( but in loss. )' This means loss and ruin.
Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi
(11:63) Salih said: 'My people! What do you think? If I had a clear evidence from my Lord, and then He also bestowed His mercy upon me, who will rescue me from the punishment of Allah if I still disobey Him? You can only make me lose even more. *73
He said, "O my people, have you meaning

Prophet Salih ( peace be on him ) makes it clear to his people that if he were to follow the advice which they offered him, it would virtually lead to his perdition.
Were Salih ( peace be on him ) to act contrary to his conscience and in opposition to the knowledge and guidance intimated to him by God, he would be liable to God's punishment, and his people would be helpless in their efforts to rescue him from that punishment.
Moreover, Salih ( peace be on him ) was not an ordinary person but a Prophet.
This made his dereliction in the sight of God even more grave.
For, God would take him to task on the grounds that although he had been encumbered with the duty to direct his people to the right way, he had consciously led them to error.

Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
( He said: O my people! Bethink you: if I am (acting ) on clear proof from my Lord) a clear exposition that has come down from my Lord ( and there hath come unto me a mercy from Him ) and He has favoured me with prophethood and Islam, ( who will save me ) who will defend me ( from Allah ) from Allah’s chastisement ( if I disobey Him ) and shun His command? ( Ye would add to me naught save perdition ) I only increase in insight about your loss.
Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali
He said: "O my people! Tell me, if I have a clear proof from my Lord, and there has come to me a Mercy (Prophethood, etc.) from Him, who then can help me against Allah, if I were to disobey Him? Then you increase me not but in loss.
