Surah Qalam ayat 28 Tafsir Quran 68:28

﴿قَالَ أَوْسَطُهُمْ أَلَمْ أَقُل لَّكُمْ لَوْلَا تُسَبِّحُونَ﴾
[ القلم: 28]

68:28 The most moderate of them said, "Did I not say to you, 'Why do you not exalt [Allah]?' "

The most moderate the best one among them said ‘Did I not say to you “Why do you not glorify?” ’ God repenting to Him.

The moderate among them said : Would it not have been befitting, as I advised, had we praised Allah and rendered thanks for the benefits that to us, He has given

قَالُواْ سُبْحَـنَ رَبّنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَـلِمِينَ- فَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ يَتَلَـوَمُونَ- قَالُواْ يوَيْلَنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا طَـغِينَ- عَسَى رَبُّنَآ أَن يُبْدِلَنَا خَيْراً مّنْهَآ إِنَّآ إِلَى رَبّنَا رغِبُونَ- كَذَلِكَ الْعَذَابُ وَلَعَذَابُ الاْخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ لَوْ كَانُواْ يَعْلَمُونَ-

(68:28) The best among them said: 'Did I not say to you: why do you not give glory to (your Lord)?' *17

The most moderate of them said, "Did meaning

*17) This means that when they were saying on oath: " We shall surely pluck the fruit of our garden tomorrow, " this person had warned them at that time, saying: " Have you forgotten God? Why don't you say: If Allah so wills? " But they did not listen to him.
Then, while they were making up their mind not to give away anything to the needy.
he again advised them to remember Allah and to desist from their evil intention, but they persisted in what they had resolved.

 

قَالُواْ سُبْحَـنَ رَبّنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَـلِمِينَ- فَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ يَتَلَـوَمُونَ- قَالُواْ يوَيْلَنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا طَـغِينَ- عَسَى رَبُّنَآ أَن يُبْدِلَنَا خَيْراً مّنْهَآ إِنَّآ إِلَى رَبّنَا رغِبُونَ- كَذَلِكَ الْعَذَابُ وَلَعَذَابُ الاْخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ لَوْ كَانُواْ يَعْلَمُونَ-

( The best among them ) in intellect and opinion; and it is also said this means: the older one of them; and it is also said: the most upright among them ( said: Said I not unto you: Why glorify ye not (Allah )) why not say: Allah willing? He said this when they made their vow.

The best among them said: "Did I not tell you: why do you not say: Insha' Allah (If Allah will)."
