Quran 12:69 Tafsir Al-Jalalayn
And when they entered to Joseph he took his brother into his arms saying to him ‘Truly it is me your brother therefore do not despair do not be grieved at what they did’ in the way of envying us. He commanded him not to tell them anything and he Joseph agreed with him that he would devise a trick to keep him Benjamin with him.
Almuntakhab Fi Tafsir Alquran Alkarim
When they came to where Yusuf was, he took his full brother -Benjamin- by his side, and in a manner designed to escape observation, he declared to him his identity and actuated him with the feeling of confidence and said to him: Do not grieve at heart over what their minds and souls had impelled them to do
Quran 12:69 Tafsir Ibn Kathir
Yusuf comforts Binyamin
Allah states that when Yusuf's brothers went in before him along with his full brother Binyamin, he invited them to a place of honor as privileged guests.
He granted them gifts and generous hospitality and kindness.
He met his brother in confidence and told him the story of what happened to him and that he was in fact his brother.
He said to him,
لاتَبْتَئِسْ
`( grieve not ) nor feel sad for what they did to me.' He ordered Binyamin to hide the news from them and to refrain from telling them that the `Aziz is his brother Yusuf.
He plotted with him to keep him in Egypt enjoying honor and great hospitality.
Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi
(12:69) When they presented themselves before Joseph he called his brother alone to himself and said to him "I am the same brother of yours (who was lost). Now you need not grieve for what they have been doing." *55
And when they entered upon Joseph, he meaning
*55) The whole story of their reunion after a separation of twenty years or so has been summed up in this brief sentence.
In all probability Prophet Joseph aught have told him the story of the vicissitudes that ultimately had led to his high rank, and Benjamin in his turn might have related the story of the iII-treatment of the heartless step-brothers.
Then Prophet Joseph might have reassured him that Ire would not be allowed to go back with them but remain with him.
It is also possible that the plan to retain him there, without disclosing the secret of Prophet Joseph's identity, would have then been thought out and decided upon.

Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
( And when they went in before Joseph, he took his brother ) from both his father and mother ( unto himself ) he gave audience to his brother Benjamin and made his other brothers wait, ( saying: Lo! I, even I, am your brother ) in the position of your deceased brother, ( therefore sorrow not ) do not be saddened ( for what they did ) for the alienation, insults and vilification you face from your brothers.
Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali
And when they went in before Yusuf (Joseph), he betook his brother (Benjamin) to himself and said: "Verily! I am your brother, so grieve not for what they used to do."
