Quran 9:95 Tafsir Al-Jalalayn
They will swear to you by God when you turn back when you return to them from Tabūk that they had genuine excuses for staying behind so that you may leave them be refraining from reproaching them. So leave them be for they are an abomination filth on account of their inner vileness and their abode shall be Hell as requital for what they used to earn.
Almuntakhab Fi Tafsir Alquran Alkarim
They will swear to you with an appeal to Allah when you return to them from battle safe and secure that what they offered you as a reason for claiming exemption was justified; they mean to be exculpated so that you do not censure them or meddle with them with hostile intent. Avoid them O Muhammad and have nothing to do with them. They are morally impure, unhallowed and defiled by sin. Their abode shall be Hell in requital of what their minds and souls have impelled them to do
Quran 9:95 Tafsir Ibn Kathir
Exposing the Deceitful Ways of Hypocrites
Allah said that when the believers go back to Al-Madinah, the hypocrites will begin apologizing to them.
( Say "Present no excuses, we shall not believe you." ), we shall not believe what you say,
( Allah has already informed us of the news concerning you. ) Allah has exposed your news to us,
( Allah and His Messenger will observe your deeds. ) your actions will be made public to people in this life,
( In the end you will be brought back to the All-Knower of the unseen and the seen, then He (Allah ) will inform you of what you used to do.) Allah will inform you of your deeds, whether they were good or evil, and will recompense you for them.
Allah said that the hypocrites will swear to the believers in apology, so that the believers turn away from them without admonishing them.
Therefore, Allah ordered disgracing them by turning away from them, for they are,
( Rijs ) meaning, impure inwardly and in their creed.
Their destination in the end will be Jahannam,
( a recompense for that which they used to earn. ) of sins and evil deeds.
Allah said that if the believers forgive the hypocrites when they swear to them,
( certainly Allah is not pleased with the people who are Fasiqin. ) who rebel against the obedience of Allah and His Messenger .

Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi
(9:95) On your return they will take solemn oaths by Allah to reassure you, so that you may turn away from theta. So turn away from them *94 because they are a filth and their real abode is Hell which shall be the recompense of what they have earned.
They will swear by Allah to you meaning

In the first sentence it means, " ...
so that you may turn away from them and forbear them and may not take them to task .... " In the second sentence it means, " ...
so turn away from them and break off all connections with them and have nothing to do with them, as if you had broken off completely with them,, and they with you " .

Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
( They ) ’Abdullah Ibn Ubayy and his host ( will swear by Allah unto you, when ye return ) from the Battle of Tabuk ( unto them ) in Medina, ( that ye may let them be ) that you may pardon them and not punish them. ( Let them be ) and do not punish them, ( for lo! they are unclean ) impure and filthy, ( and their abode ) their destiny ( is hell as the reward for what they used to earn ) for what they used to say and do of evil.
Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali
They will swear by Allah to you (Muslims) when you return to them, that you may turn away from them. So turn away from them. Surely, they are Rijsun [i.e. Najasun (impure) because of their evil deeds], and Hell is their dwelling place, - a recompense for that which they used to earn.
We try our best to translate, keeping in mind the Italian saying: "Traduttore, traditore", which means: "Translation is a betrayal of the original text".
