surah Naml aya 15 , English translation of the meaning Ayah.
﴿وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا دَاوُودَ وَسُلَيْمَانَ عِلْمًا ۖ وَقَالَا الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي فَضَّلَنَا عَلَىٰ كَثِيرٍ مِّنْ عِبَادِهِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ﴾
[ النمل: 15]
27:15 And We had certainly given to David and Solomon knowledge, and they said, "Praise [is due] to Allah, who has favored us over many of His believing servants."
Tafsir Ibn Katheer in EnglishI granted David and his son Solomon knowledge, part of which was the language of birds.
David and Solomon said, in gratitude to Allah: “All praise is for Allah who has given us virtue over many of his believing servants, through prophethood and subjugating the jinns”.
Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali
And indeed We gave knowledge to Dawud (David) and Sulaiman (Solomon), and they both said: "All the praises and thanks be to Allah, Who has preferred us above many of His believing slaves!"
phonetic Transliteration
Walaqad atayna dawooda wasulaymana AAilman waqala alhamdu lillahi allathee faddalana AAala katheerin min AAibadihi almumineena
Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation
We gave (in the past) knowledge to David and Solomon: And they both said: "Praise be to Allah, Who has favoured us above many of his servants who believe!"
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri
And indeed We gave knowledge to Dawud and Sulayman, and they both said: "All praise be to Allah, Who has preferred us above many of His believing servants!"
We try our best to translate, keeping in mind the Italian saying: "Traduttore, traditore", which means: "Translation is a betrayal of the original text".
27:15 And We had certainly given to David and Solomon knowledge, and they translate in arabic
ولقد آتينا داود وسليمان علما وقالا الحمد لله الذي فضلنا على كثير من عباده المؤمنين

And We bestowed on Dawud (David) and Sulayman (Solomon) divine knowledge for which they were grateful and they expressed their gratitude in words, thus: Our bosoms, they said, surge forth answering thanks to Allah Who has privileged us with what is beyond the common advantages of others of His votaries whose hearts reflect the image of religious and spiritual virtues
Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran by Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi
(27:15) (On the other hand,) We gave knowledge to David and Solomon, *18 and they said, "Praise is for Allah Who exalted us above many of His believing servants." *19
And We had certainly given to David and Solomon knowledge, and they meaning
*18) That is, the knowledge of the Reality, the knowledge that whatever they have is not theirs but the gift of Allah and whatever rights they have been granted over those things should be used strictly according to Allah's will, for they will be held answerable before Allah, the real Owner, for the right and wrong use of those rights. This knowledge is the opposite of the ignorance in which Pharaoh was involved. The type of character built on the ignorance has been presented in the preceding verses. Now, in the following verses, the model of the character built on the knowledge is being presented. The sort of kingdom, wealth, power and grandeur were common on both the sides. The Pharaoh had been given these as well as the Prophets David and Solomon. But the distinction of the ignorance and the knowledge built and moulded them into entirely different personalities.
*19) That is, "There were other believing, servants as well, who could be blessed with vicegerency. But it is only Allah's favour, not due to any special quality in ourselves, that He has chosen us to be rulers over this kingdom."

(دوسری طرف) ہم نے داؤدؑ و سلیمانؑ کو علم عطا کیا اور انہوں نے کہا کہ شکر ہے اُس خدا کا جس نے ہم کو اپنے بہت سے مومن بندوں پر فضیلت عطا کی
