Verse 23 from surah Al-Ahqaaf

﴿قَالَ إِنَّمَا الْعِلْمُ عِندَ اللَّهِ وَأُبَلِّغُكُم مَّا أُرْسِلْتُ بِهِ وَلَٰكِنِّي أَرَاكُمْ قَوْمًا تَجْهَلُونَ﴾
[ الأحقاف: 23]

English - Sahih International

46:23 He said, "Knowledge [of its time] is only with Allah, and I convey to you that with which I was sent; but I see you [to be] a people behaving ignorantly."

Tafsir Ibn Katheer in English

Abridged Explanation of the Quran

He said: “The knowledge of the time for punishment is only with Allah and I do not have any knowledge of it.
I am only a messenger who conveys to you what I have been sent with towards you.
However, I see you as a people who are unaware of what contains benefit for you, so you leave it, and of what contains harm for you, so you commit it”.

Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali

He said: "The knowledge (of the time of its coming) is with Allah only, and I convey to you that wherewith I have been sent, but I see that you are a people given to ignorance!"

Qala innama alAAilmu AAinda Allahi waoballighukum ma orsiltu bihi walakinnee arakum qawman tajhaloona

Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation

He said: "The Knowledge (of when it will come) is only with Allah: I proclaim to you the mission on which I have been sent: But I see that ye are a people in ignorance!"..

Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri

He said: "The knowledge (of that) is only with Allah. And I convey to you that wherewith I have been sent, but I see that you are a people given to ignorance!"

*26) That is, "Allah alone knows as to when the torment will descend on you and for how long you will be granted respite."
*27) That is, "You are taking my warning as a joke in your ignorance and are demanding the torment for fun. You have no idea of how dreadful is God's torment and how near at hand it might have approached because of your misdeeds. "

اُس نے کہا کہ "اِس کا علم تو اللہ کو ہے، میں صرف وہ پیغام تمہیں پہنچا رہا ہوں جسے دے کر مجھے بھیجا گیا ہے مگر میں دیکھ رہا ہوں کہ تم لوگ جہالت برت رہے ہو"
