surah Muhammad aya 3 , English translation of the meaning Ayah.
﴿ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا اتَّبَعُوا الْبَاطِلَ وَأَنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّبَعُوا الْحَقَّ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يَضْرِبُ اللَّهُ لِلنَّاسِ أَمْثَالَهُمْ﴾
[ محمد: 3]
47:3 That is because those who disbelieve follow falsehood, and those who believe follow the truth from their Lord. Thus does Allah present to the people their comparisons.
Tafsir Ibn Katheer in EnglishThat mentioned recompense for the two groups is because those who reject Allah followed falsehood, and those who have faith in Allah and His Messenger followed the truth from their Lord.
Thus, their recompense differs just as their efforts differed.
Just as Allah showed His decision about the two groups, the group of the believers and the group of the disbelievers, Allah gives people their examples, so that similar things are linked.
Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali
That is because those who disbelieve follow falsehood, while those who believe follow the truth from their Lord. Thus does Allah set forth their parables for mankind.

Thalika bianna allatheena kafaroo ittabaAAoo albatila waanna allatheena amanoo ittabaAAoo alhaqqa min rabbihim kathalika yadribu Allahu lilnnasi amthalahum
Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation
This because those who reject Allah follow vanities, while those who believe follow the Truth from their Lord: Thus does Allah set forth for men their lessons by similitudes.
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri
That is because those who disbelieve follow falsehood, while those who believe follow the truth from their Lord. Thus does Allah set forth for mankind their parables.
We try our best to translate, keeping in mind the Italian saying: "Traduttore, traditore", which means: "Translation is a betrayal of the original text".

Such dispositions: were indeed befitting for the reason that those who denied Allah went in pursuit of the worthless and in vain they wasted their days, while those who believed in Allah with hearts impressed with the image of virtues sought the truth disclosed by Him. Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran by Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi
(47:3) That is because those who disbelieved followed falsehood whereas those who believed followed the Truth that came to them from their Lord. Thus does Allah set forth to people parables showing their true state. *7

*7) That is, "He makes both the parties aware of their positions. One party insists on following falsehood; therefore, Allah has brought all its endeavors to naught: and the other party has adopted obedience of the Truth; therefore, AIIah has purified it of its evils and corrected its condition."

یہ اس لیے کہ کفر کرنے والوں نے باطل کی پیروی کی اور ایمان لانے والوں نے اُس حق کی پیروی کی جو ان کے رب کی طرف سے آیا ہے اِس طرح اللہ لوگوں کو اُن کی ٹھیک ٹھیک حیثیت بتائے دیتا ہے
