[ يس: 45]

36:45 But when it is said to them, "Beware of what is before you and what is behind you; perhaps you will receive mercy... "

Abridged Explanation of the Quran

When these idolaters who turn away from faith are told: Beware of what you are going towards in the Hereafter and its difficulties, and beware of the world behind you, in the hope that Allah will favour you with His mercy, they do not comply with that but they turn away from it without any care.

Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali

And when it is said to them: "Beware of that which is before you (worldly torments), and that which is behind you (torments in the Hereafter), in order that you may receive Mercy (i.e. if you believe in Allah's Religion Islamic Monotheism, and avoid polytheism, and obey Allah with righteous deeds).
