surah Nahl aya 47 , English translation of the meaning Ayah.
﴿أَوْ يَأْخُذَهُمْ عَلَىٰ تَخَوُّفٍ فَإِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ لَرَءُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ﴾
[ النحل: 47]
16:47 Or that He would not seize them gradually [in a state of dread]? But indeed, your Lord is Kind and Merciful.
Tafsir Ibn Katheer in EnglishOr do they feel secure that Allah’s punishment will not come to them while they are afraid of it? Allah is able to punish them in every condition.
Your Lord is compassionate and merciful.
He does not take retribution hastily for perhaps His servants will turn to Him in repentance.
Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali
Or that He may catch them with gradual wasting (of their wealth and health). Truly! Your Lord is indeed full of Kindness, Most Merciful?

Aw yakhuthahum AAala takhawwufin fainna rabbakum laraoofun raheemun
Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation
Or that He may not call them to account by a process of slow wastage - for thy Lord is indeed full of kindness and mercy.
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri
Or that He may punish them where they fear it most Indeed, Your Lord is full of kindness, Most Merciful.

Or that He shall not punish them by inspiring to them constant sense of danger and cause their gradual fall from power, in His own manner, until it is vanished, -re- conquest of Macca, and many other recent events-, to give them a chance, that at some point they may wake up to their senses. Allah is indeed Ghafurun and Rahimun
