surah Ghafir aya 75 , English translation of the meaning Ayah.
﴿ذَٰلِكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَفْرَحُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ وَبِمَا كُنتُمْ تَمْرَحُونَ﴾
[ غافر: 75]
40:75 [The angels will say], "That was because you used to exult upon the earth without right and you used to behave insolently.
Tafsir Ibn Katheer in EnglishIt will be said to them: “That punishment which you are suffering is due to your rejoicing over the idolatry you were upon and due to your excess in rejoicing.
Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali
That was because you had been exulting in the earth without any right (by worshipping others instead of Allah and by committing crimes), and that you used to rejoice extremely (in your error).
phonetic Transliteration
Thalikum bima kuntum tafrahoona fee alardi bighayri alhaqqi wabima kuntum tamrahoona
Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation
"That was because ye were wont to rejoice on the earth in things other than the Truth, and that ye were wont to be insolent.
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri
That was because you had been exulting in the earth without any right, and that you used to rejoice extremely.
We try our best to translate, keeping in mind the Italian saying: "Traduttore, traditore", which means: "Translation is a betrayal of the original text".

(40:75) (They will be told): 'This is because while you were on earth you took delight in untruth and exulted in it. *104

*104) That is, "You not only followed that which was untrue and false, but you became so enamoured of the untruth that when the Truth was presented before you, you paid no heed to it, but continued to exult in yow worship of the falsehood.
