Abridged Explanation of the Quran

The people of Shuayb, who lived in a town surrounded by intertwined trees, were wrongdoers; because of their denial of Allah and rejection of His Messenger, Shuayb ( peace be with him ).

And the dwellers in the wood [i.e. the people of Madyan (Midian) to whom Prophet Shu'aib was sent by Allah), were also Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.).

(15:78) As the people of Al Aikah *43 were unjust,

*43) The people of Al-Aikah were the canmunity of Prophet Shu`aib and were called Midianites after the name of their capital city and their territory. As regards AI-Aikah, it was the ancient name of Tabuk and literally means a "thick forest" .
