surah Kahf aya 97 , English translation of the meaning Ayah.
﴿فَمَا اسْطَاعُوا أَن يَظْهَرُوهُ وَمَا اسْتَطَاعُوا لَهُ نَقْبًا﴾
[ الكهف: 97]
18:97 So Gog and Magog were unable to pass over it, nor were they able [to effect] in it any penetration.
Tafsir Ibn Katheer in EnglishSo Gog and Magog were unable to climb over it due to its height nor were they able to make a hole in it from beneath due to its hardness.
Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali
So they [Ya'juj and Ma'juj (Gog and Magog)] were made powerless to scale it or dig through it.

Fama istaAAoo an yathharoohu wama istataAAoo lahu naqban

Thus were they made powerless to scale it or to dig through it.
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri
So they could not scale it or dig through it.
