﴿وَاصْبِرْ وَمَا صَبْرُكَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ ۚ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا تَكُ فِي ضَيْقٍ مِّمَّا يَمْكُرُونَ﴾
[ النحل: 127]

English - Sahih International

16:127 And be patient, [O Muhammad], and your patience is not but through Allah. And do not grieve over them and do not be in distress over what they conspire.

Tafsir Ibn Katheer in English

Abridged Explanation of the Quran

So be patient - O Messenger - over the harm that they afflict on you.
You are only granted the ability to be patient by Allah’s granting it to you.
Do not grieve over the disbelievers’ turning away from you, and do not let your heart be constrained by the schemes and plots they carry out.

Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali

And endure you patiently (O Muhammad SAW), your patience is not but from Allah. And grieve not over them (polytheists and pagans, etc.), and be not distressed because of what they plot.

Waisbir wama sabruka illa biAllahi wala tahzan AAalayhim wala taku fee dayqin mimma yamkuroona

Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation

And do thou be patient, for thy patience is but from Allah; nor grieve over them: and distress not thyself because of their plots.

Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri

Almuntakhab Fi Tafsir Alquran Alkarim

And have patience O Muhammad, show forbearance under their provocation and bear with them their faults and limitations. For in patience, you apply yourself unto Allah Who consoles your soul and your heart unto wisdom which alleviates your mental distress. And do not be grieved at heart for their denial of the divine message and for their hearts which dare rise defiant against Allah. Nor should you be sorely distressed on account of their cunning which they take for a sinister and crooked wisdom
