﴿وَقَالُوا اتَّخَذَ الرَّحْمَٰنُ وَلَدًا ۗ سُبْحَانَهُ ۚ بَلْ عِبَادٌ مُّكْرَمُونَ﴾
[ الأنبياء: 26]

English - Sahih International

21:26 And they say, "The Most Merciful has taken a son." Exalted is He! Rather, they are [but] honored servants.

Tafsir Ibn Katheer in English

Abridged Explanation of the Quran

The idolaters said: “Allah has taken the angels as daughters”.
Pure and exalted is Allah from the lie they say.
The angels are in fact the servants of Allah, honoured by Him and close to Him.

Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali

And they say: "The Most Beneficent (Allah) has begotten a son (or children)." Glory to Him! They [those whom they call children of Allah i.e. the angels, 'Iesa (Jesus) son of Maryam (Mary), 'Uzair (Ezra), etc.], are but honoured slaves.

Waqaloo ittakhatha alrrahmanu waladan subhanahu bal AAibadun mukramoona

Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation

And they say: "(Allah) Most Gracious has begotten offspring." Glory to Him! they are (but) servants raised to honour.
