﴿وَمَا أَنتُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ فِي الْأَرْضِ ۖ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ مِن وَلِيٍّ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ﴾
[ الشورى: 31]

English - Sahih International

42:31 And you will not cause failure [to Allah] upon the earth. And you have not besides Allah any protector or helper.

Tafsir Ibn Katheer in English

Abridged Explanation of the Quran

You are not able to save yourselves from your Lord by running away when He wants to punish you.
You do not have anyone besides Him to take charge of your affairs nor anyone to help you by removing the punishment if He intends it for you.

Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali

And you cannot escape from Allah (i.e. His Punishment) in the earth, and besides Allah you have neither any Wali (guardian or a protector) nor any helper.

Wama antum bimuAAjizeena fee alardi wama lakum min dooni Allahi min waliyyin wala naseerin

Abdullah Yusuf Ali - Translation

Nor can ye frustrate (aught), (fleeing) through the earth; nor have ye, besides Allah, any one to protect or to help.

Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri

And you cannot escape from Allah in the earth, and besides Allah you have neither any protector nor any helper.
