surah Baqarah aya 36 , English translation of the meaning Ayah.
2:36 But Satan caused them to slip out of it and removed them from that [condition] in which they had been. And We said, "Go down, [all of you], as enemies to one another, and you will have upon the earth a place of settlement and provision for a time."
Tafsir Ibn Katheer in EnglishSatan did not stop whispering to them, trying to trick them, until he made them slip and fall by eating from the tree which Allah had told them not to.
For this Allah sent them out of the Garden, telling them and Satan to go down to the earth, some of them enemies to others, where they would stay and live, enjoying the good things there until their lifespan, and until the Final Hour arrived.
Muhammad Taqiud-Din alHilali
Then the Shaitan (Satan) made them slip therefrom (the Paradise), and got them out from that in which they were. We said: "Get you down, all, with enmity between yourselves. On earth will be a dwelling place for you and an enjoyment for a time."

But through envy and hatred did Iblis, take delight in the portraiture of lawless passion and succeed in tempting them both to commit themselves to what they failed to realize would be an evil line of conduct that they ate of the fruit of the forbidden tree. With the prospect of pleasure and advantage of inciting them to evil, -AL-Shaytan- precipitated their ejection from the state of supreme bliss. In consequence, We said to them: Upon Our command to all of you, We bring you down upon from this blissful state with mutual enmity toward each other, and you shall settle on earth for a predetermined point of time
Tafseer Tafheem-ul-Quran by Syed Abu-al-A'la Maududi
(2:36) After a time Satan tempted them with that tree to disobey. Our Command and brought them out of the state they were in, and We decreed, "Now, go down all of you from here; you are enemies of one another. *50 Henceforth you shall dwell and provide for yourselves on the Earth for a specified period."
But Satan caused them to slip out of it and removed them meaning
*50). This means that Satan is the enemy of man, and vice versa. That Satan is the enemy, of man is obvious enough, for he tries to drive him off the course of obedience to God and leads him to perdition, but one might wonder how man could be referred to as the enemy of Satan. The fact is that man's essential humanity makes this enmity incumbent upon him. Man, however, is often deceived by Satan and befriends him owing to the temptations that he holds out to him. This kind of friendship does not mean that the basic, irreconcilable clash of interests between man and Satan has been resolved. It only means that one of the two (Satan) has defeated and successfully trapped the other (man).
