Surah shura ayat 33 Tafsir Quran 42:33

﴿إِن يَشَأْ يُسْكِنِ الرِّيحَ فَيَظْلَلْنَ رَوَاكِدَ عَلَىٰ ظَهْرِهِ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّكُلِّ صَبَّارٍ شَكُورٍ﴾
[ الشورى: 33]

42:33 If He willed, He could still the wind, and they would remain motionless on its surface. Indeed in that are signs for everyone patient and grateful.

If He will He stills the wind whereat they remain they become motionless fixed not moving on its surface. Surely in that there are signs for every steadfast grateful servant — this is the believer who is steadfast during hardship and grateful in times of comfort.

If it be His will, not a breath of wind would cross. the heavens and He would take the wind out of the sails, and motionless shall they remain on its surface, tokens indeed symbolic of Allahs Omnipotence and Authority; tokens giving insight to those who bear well all calamities, and the good events live ever in their thankful hearts

(42:33) If He so wills, He can cause the winds to become still so that they will remain motionless on its surface. Surely there are many Signs in this for those who are wont to be steadfast and give thanks. *53

If He willed, He could still the meaning

*53) " Who patiently endures ": who keeps himself fully under control and remains steadfast on the path of servitude under all circumstances, good or bad; who dces not forget himself so as to become rebellious against God and cruel to the people, when favoured with good times, and loses heart and stoops to anything when visited by evil times.
A " gratefull person " is every such person who regards it as a bounty of Allah and not the result of any merit or excellence in himself when he is exalted to any high place of honour in life by a Divine decree, and keeps his mind concentrated on the blessings which remain available to man even under the worst circumstances instead of his deprivations when deposed to the lowest of the low position.
Thus, he continues to thank his Lord in both prosperity and adversity with his tongue and heart.

 

If He will He calmeth the wind) by means of which ships sail ( so that they keep still upon its surface ) of the water. ( Lo! Herein ) in that which I have mentioned regarding ships ( verily are signs ) and lessons ( for every steadfast ) in acts of obedience ( grateful (heart )) for Allah’s blessings.

If He wills, He causes the wind to cease, then they would become motionless on the back (of the sea). Verily, in this are signs for everyone patient and grateful.
