Surah Sad ayat 36 Tafsir Quran 38:36

﴿فَسَخَّرْنَا لَهُ الرِّيحَ تَجْرِي بِأَمْرِهِ رُخَاءً حَيْثُ أَصَابَ﴾
[ ص: 36]

38:36 So We subjected to him the wind blowing by his command, gently, wherever he directed,

So We disposed for him the wind which blew softly gently at his command wherever he intended.

And there We subdued the wind and We made its activity subservient to his command, it flowed gently to wherever He willed and yielded to his demand

(38:36) We subjected the wind to him, so that it blew gently at his bidding, wherever he directed it, *37

So We subjected to him the wind meaning

However, there is one thing which requires further explanation here.
In Surah Al Anbiya` where mention has been made of subjecting the wind for the Prophet Solomon, it has been described as `the strongly blowing wind, but here " which blew gently at his bidding " .
This means that the wind in itself was strong and violent as is needed for moving the sailing-ships but it had been made gentle for the Prophet Solomon in the sense that it blew whither-so-ever he wanted it to blow for his commercial fleets.

 

( So We made the wind subservient unto him ) after that, ( setting fair ) setting gently ( by his command ) and it is said: by Allah’s command ( whithersoever he intended ) wherever he wished.

So, We subjected to him the wind, it blew gently to his order whithersoever he willed,
