Surah Qasas ayat 43 Tafsir Quran 28:43

﴿وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا مُوسَى الْكِتَابَ مِن بَعْدِ مَا أَهْلَكْنَا الْقُرُونَ الْأُولَىٰ بَصَائِرَ لِلنَّاسِ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لَّعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ﴾
[ القصص: 43]

28:43 And We gave Moses the Scripture, after We had destroyed the former generations, as enlightenment for the people and guidance and mercy that they might be reminded.

And verily We gave Moses the Scripture the Torah after We had destroyed the former generations the people of Noah ‘Ād Thamūd and others containing eye-openers for mankind basā’ira is a circumstantial qualifier referring to al-kitāb ‘the Scripture’ the plural of basīra which is the perceptive light of the heart in other words illumination for the hearts of mankind and as guidance from error for those who implement it and mercy for those who believe therein that perhaps they might remember that they might be admonished by the admonitions it the Scripture contains.

And after We had reduced the earlier generations to a useless form We gave Mussa the Book AL-Tawrah (the Torah) to serve as a divine evidence engaging the intellect and a spirit of truth guiding into all truth and a mercy extended by Allah so that they may hopefully lift to Him their inward sight and keep Him in mind

The Blessings which Allah bestowed upon Musa Allah tells us about the blessings which He gave His servant and Messenger Musa, the speaker, may the best of peace and blessings from his Lord be upon him, He revealed the Tawrah to him after He destroyed Fir`awn and his chiefs. مِن بَعْدِ مَآ أَهْلَكْنَا الْقُرُونَ الاٍّولَى ( after We had destroyed the generations of old ) After the revelation of the Tawrah, no nation would again be punished with an overwhelming calamity; instead the believers were now commanded to fight the enemies of Allah among the idolators, as Allah says: وَجَآءَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَن قَبْلَهُ وَالْمُؤْتَفِكَـتُ بِالْخَاطِئَةِ - فَعَصَوْاْ رَسُولَ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَهُمْ أَخْذَةً رَّابِيَةً ( And Fir`awn, and those before him, and the cities overthrown committed sin.
And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He seized them with a strong punishment ) ( 69:9-10 ). بَصَآئِرَ لِلنَّاسِ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةً ( as an enlightenment for mankind, and a guidance and a mercy, ) guidance from blindness and error.
A guidance to the truth and a mercy means, to show the way towards doing righteous deeds. لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ ( that they might remember. ) means, that the people might be reminded and guided by it.

(28:43) After We had destroyed the former generations, We gave Moses the Book, which We made a means of enlightenment for the people, and a Guidance and a Mercy, so that they may learn lessons. *59

And We gave Moses the Scripture, after meaning

*59) That is, " When the former generations met with the evil consequences of turning away from the teachings of the Prophets, and they met the doom that was experienced by Pharaoh and his hosts, then Moses was granted the Book so as to usher in a new era for mankind.

( And We verily gave the Scripture ) i.e. the Torah ( unto Moses after We had destroyed the generations of old ) before Moses; ( clear testimonies ) a clarification ( for mankind ) for the Children of Israel, ( and a guidance ) from error ( and a mercy ) for those who believe in it, ( that haply they might reflect ) in order that they make take admonition and believe in it.

And indeed We gave Musa (Moses), after We had destroyed the generations of old, the Scripture [the Taurat (Torah)] as an enlightenment for mankind, and a guidance and a mercy, that they might remember (or receive admonition).
